Great short video on a specific technique. While the traditional Rat-L-Trap is a legend on Rayburn specifically, it works just as well on most East Texas waters. Newbury is quite the stick all around, but when it comes to traps, he's the master and pretty much unparalleled on the Big Sam.

Those hooks are just as great on jerk baits. The stickiest hooks I’ve ever used.

Kool-Aid drank... found ONE box of no 3 Aaron Martens Nano G-Finesse Trebles online lol. Grabed it along with some no 4;s and put a couple on some of my go to's, will see how they do in Florida. Let's hope the non-AM branded replacements dont become another Haymaker! ; )

Impulse rods are very good rods if you guys have not tried them out you are missing out. Pluse they are made right here in the USA unlike so many things now days.

Thanks for the info on hooks, and rods for trap fishing!!! Very good info KEN. The IMPULSE rods you were saying are built by TEXANS, this is true and ZELL ROWLAND was a part of IMPULSE as he designed two lines of rods for them, one is an economy grade and one is a professional grade and they are very light and comfortable to handle!!!

Thanks for the fishing info! I enjoyed some of your previous videos especially the great boat search. I have a used boat search of my own going on now that I think of as the old but good budget boat find. It's my first boat. I found a 90's model champion 201 that is clean and updated with Garmin units and trolling motor for 11k. I'm leaning towards buying it and will do a water test this weekend! I'm in Kentucky but would love to see you on the water somewhere!

I fished that Bfl w/ Jerry Mason. My first time on the lake. Interesting place. Had a fairly decent day out there. I know Newberry thought of that fish in the event! Good grief that was a giant!👍🏽👍🏽
