So awesome bro. I've been fishing in the panhandle all my life and caught tarpon, kings, cobia etc...... I've still yet to get a black drum. Just started beach fishing and using fishbites. Tight lines

Oh yeah, I got the goods. I have been fishing for so long I really don't remember when I started. I have landed 20 pound Kings and 12+ lb Steelies on 6 lb line. In a river. Still, I have hooked Reds that you would swear are 30 lbs and they're only 10. They are pretty tough.

As far as pompano it may have slowed down by then, but there will be other opportunities with trout, blues, Spanish, and flounder

Did you get reds and the black drum on the fishbites? I go for red drum on vacation every year with the bloodworm fishbites. Is that what you were using and how'd you rig your hooks and present the fishbites? Thanks for the video, gets me excited to get out there. I usually use a 4 ounce pyramid sinker with 2 hooks and a small floater on each. No clue if I'm doing it right since I surfcast 1 week a year but was hoping you could give me some tips. Just subscribed!

I was using shrimp and fishbites, but we do typically catch reds and black drum on just pieces of Fishbites on pompano rigs

This was Alabama Point aka Perdido Pass. Fishing here changes day by day. This isn’t typical results, but the pompano should still be good when you are here.

when those rays stick to the bottom a lot of the time you can "twang " the string like a guitar string and they will come off of the sand. Seriously. Give it a try It works

How far are you casting? I heard longer 10-12 surf rods is good for casting far. What size would you recommend for the surf?
