Learn where to catch speckled trout and redfish in my course Fall Fish Location: www.lafbelite....
Fall is the best season to target limits of speckled trout in Louisiana, especially if you're looking to fill the box with tasty fillets to spoil your family with.
But, it's undisputed that the best fishing you can do during the fall pattern is fishing just before a cold front hits.
Join me in this fishing trip as I set out in near-perfect conditions to target a limit of speckled trout in the Biloxi Marsh on the east side of Lake Borgne.
Watch the video all the way through to maximize all the fishing tips and tricks you will learn here and, if you enjoyed this fishing trip, please give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing, as that really helps me out a bunch.

Gotta be honest. As a Texan, usually when I see videos from Louisiana there's a lot of cringing, but seeing you throw them all back feels a little better. Sucks that a good one up there is only 12 inches though.

100% Man, you cannot talk conservation in this state without people looking at you like something is growing out of your forehead. On LAFB's Facebook I had recently posted about putting fish back in the water for a better fishery and you would think I spit on the Pope by the way people dogpiled me. See it for yourself: bit.ly/3E3bPPa It really takes the wind out of my sails at time and makes me question why I do all this in the first place. Scroll comments on my videos and you'll see people asking "wHy dO u tHroW tHeM bAcK". It is ridiculous. I absolutely hate grinding to catch 12" trout but that's mostly what we have here. I can rant more about this, but for now I'll say that I'm thankful you get it, I absolutely love what you guys are doing in Texas and I hope Louisiana can learn from its awesome neighbor. Tight lines and thanks for watching!

I had a few hours to mess with on Tuesday so I took the kayak out and was headed to a specific spot. When I got within eye sight I noticed a boat that had passed me 5 min earlier positioned exactly where I was headed. As I turned the corner birds were going crazy. I stayed behind so as to not cut him off but I had just pedaled an hour to get there so I kept about 50-100 yrs out and started fishing. Caught a few dinks. He moved on so I kept working my way through the lake. There were birds popping up in many directions and the same dude cranked up his motor hauling ass to them every time. (There were already boats on them) I was the birds and boats leave every time he rolled up. Some people just don’t get it. I watched one boat shit it down about 100 yards out and troll over to some birds and we’re working them for a while before that same guy from earlier hauled ass over and ruined that bite too. I gave up heading towards the birds bc he killed the bite every time. Ended up w 4 trout, 16 3/4” flounder (didn’t keep due to season) and some bass from the marsh. Was still a good day to be on the water.

I will say, it’s the year of under sized trout. The last 2-3 times my wife and I have been fishing this month we have easily caught 200 trout all under sized. Last trip we ran into 3 flocks of diving birds making the run out of PAC marina to Lake Chien, all under sized trout. Still beats being skunked.

Because the white shrimp are transitioning out to the gulf via a falling tide. They are being funneled through that “mystery” opening into the lake. The birds are picking off the shrimp as the trout are pushing them up to the surface??

Devin the navigation path you take to enter Stump Lagoon, do you have to stay on plane or can you idle across? I tried going across from Bayou Lourtre only once and even at idle, I hit a number of underwater objects plus ended up with a crab trap wrapped around my prop. I saw boaters (Charter Captains) hauling across then hugging the land area until they reached the entrance to Stump Lagoon from Bayou Lourtre. Enjoyed the video very much.

I thought banana boats were only on the weekends. My last trip out of Beavenue I watched 20 boats run over the jumping shrimp and pass up 100 birds driving on them. You can't make this stuff up. As for the specs location I have been killing 15 to 17 inch white trout. Specs have to wait for now.

Back in the day there was a mothership that would berth in the Biloxi Marsh and their runabouts were yellow in color. They looked like bananas. Ever since I've always called them banana boats.

On the topic of the mothership boats. Cause when I see them I always go home and google the ship names. Has anyone ever seen the price to take one of those charters? It’s like $10k+ for 2 days for like 10-12 people. The tenders don’t have trolling motors, which I can’t imagine fishing without one nowadays. Most of the ones I’ve seen are run out of Mississippi. I know they have to purchase louisiana licenses but since they primarily fish louisiana waters, it would be nice if we received more benefit from them coming into our waters, like tax revenue from their fuel purchases and such. I guess they run out of Mississippi because MS has invested in their public marinas and infrastructure whereas louisianas public launches are used as a dumping ground for old boats. Not to mention the everyday trash everywhere. The people doing those charters I’d imagine are usually inexperienced boaters, but the ones I’ve spoken to in passing were polite. Seems like a fun trip for out of town fisherman with money to spend. Some of those motherships are like mini cruise liners, beautiful cabins and such. Idk just my thoughts

Why has Louisiana not changed their Speck numbers? 25 at 12 inches? Why? Why not cut that down to 10 and increase the size to15 or 16. Let them get mature and breed a couple seasons.

I'm hesitant to comment on anything regarding specific creel limits for many reasons. But my general philosophy is that there tends to be more fish in the water when you put fish back in the water. It's that simple. lol

@@LAFishBlog I hear ya people tend to be very divided and polarized on that issue. Just seems like they would have some regulations on them. I mean, what’s the difference between specks and whites? To me it seems like spots are the main difference so why is one highly regulated and the other has none ? 🤷‍♂️

Guide service with live aboard to stay on for a couple days (mother ship) with small dinghy boats (banana boats) to fish from. Those people may be from out of town or don't fish much. Chances are they had no clue what they were doing. Just gotta be patient these days so many people on the water...... it's frustrating.

What a bunch of clowns in the banana boats. I don’t wish this evil lightly, but, i hope they caught sail cats all day and stepped on a Lego when they got home. I know that’s harsh, apologies for the anger lol😂 Gotta kinda wonder though, did they do it intentionally knowingly you and others would get frustrated and leave? War of attrition? Dark mind games on the water. Just odd same boats in same area. Cheaper to run banana boats over you casting than move big boat and find new spot?
@dixie3087
@dixie3087 Жыл бұрын
Those little tenders come from the mothership boats. They do not have trolling motors. I’d be surprised to hear they even have anchors lol. Also, do those charter companies verify that the operators have passed the boaters safety course? Probably not.

@@dixie3087 right that’s what i am saying. Mothership has paying customers right? They find decent spot, stake it out. Keep little boats running and aggravate people enough to make them leave the spot. Not enough to cross the legal line and harass, just run over your fishing zone enough for you to leave.
