Hi. I found your channel actually both of your channels last night on my home TV and subscribed. I'm also subscribing on my phone so I can leave a comment easier. First of all I'm so glad I found your channels. I've only watched about three of your videos but I have learned a ton so far. You do an awesome job and are an awesome teacher. Really hoping to do a kayak trip for the first time to Louisiana with my buddy this fall in October around Venice. I don't mean to sound like a tourist but I'm a little nervous about the alligators. I have kayaked fish extensively in Texas Alabama and Florida and have had a couple close calls with aggressive alligators and it has made me a little bit jumpy. Any advice or words of wisdom you could give me for kayak fishing with them around the Venice area ? Appreciate it

It's an old aluminum flatboat that's been in the family for 30 years, currently on its second motor. It floats shallow and if it hits something its not so bad because it's old and denty lol

No mention from our little invaders from down south being caught with truck loads of bull reds in backs of trucks year by year in grand isle, a main hub of breeding redfish. But, We love our illegals.. shhhh that doesn’t exist or it never happens. Yearly. We need to really clamp down on citizens here, that’s the main problem.

I haven't been to Elmers or even Grand isle area in general since they cut off vehicle access to the beach, and I know many many people who agree and also haven't been back since. Its just another freedom they have taken away from us, and its not even worth going down there anymore. It used to be one of the coolest things to be able to drive your pickup onto the island and fish but now thats ruined and im sure they have easily cut tourism income in half by doing so.

We used to catch limits on the Port Fourchon side by where what used to be sunken barges filled with rocks. The barges are rusted away but the rocks are still there. Doesn't look like you could get there easily now, the bridge going there is gone

Paul Brown Fatboy & Softdine, Mirrolure Mirrodine & Mirrolip, Super Spook & Spook Jr. Those will lead you to the promised land at Elmer's. But dink slaying with a popping cork or double rig is also an option.

Devin, I noticed that you kept closing the bail on your reel with your left hand rather than just reeling to close the bail. Was the bail spring just weak or was there another reason/? Semper Fi.
