Catching Summer Redfish in Lake Pontchartrain

When I woke up at 3am that morning I had no intention of targeting redfish, but a simple mistake caused me to change not just the area I had planned to fish but also the species.
Follow along in this video as I traverse the wide waters of Lake Pontchartrain to home in on an easy bite of redfish using my Humminbird Helix 12 MEGA SI graph and a good ol' fashioned jig on my redfish Daiwa rod and reel combo.

Yeah you right my dude. Electronics are just another tool in the tool box. Have to have a lot of other knowledge to make them work for you. Great video.

I live on lake ponchartrain, any tips to finding the reds in June? I'm starting to take my son fishing, we usually try the grasslands in madisonville near T rivers

I’ve tried doing this last year on the causeway finding bait balls. Caught a few. I really need to upgrade to a side imaging unit.

Yeah man I don’t play with them storms. Especially when I’m out in big water. I’ve been caught out in my kayak in a bad storm doing the whole “1 more cast then I’ll go in”.
