I have a book "Lamborghini" by Jean-Marc Borel and at the very back is an LP 500S in the Copper colour and it looks sensational, far more dramatic than the classic red. Modern Lamborghini's are often painted in bright, in-your-face colours, but to see a copper Countach in the early 80's must have been outrageous.

The Rolls story must be from the 70's as the Granada didn't exist in the 60's! Similar stories exist from the days when Hondas were built in Rover facilities, some parts not good enough to meet the Honda standards went onto the Rover cars instead.
@keyboarddancers7751
@keyboarddancers7751 3 жыл бұрын
Well spotted! The Granada came onto the scene in '72 which fits the '70s timeline. However if the story related to Ford's Mark III and Mark IV Zephyr/Zodiac models then it would be in line with the '60s. (Rare oversight from Mr Tyrrell!)

It's great to see Keir Starmer doing something that he's good at.

When Ian is referring to embossed leather, it is typically regarded as a lower grade leather. Hides are split (skived) into two, the original outer skin is "top grain" and is easily distinguished as it has a completely random, much deeper grain. It is also usually much thicher because as the grain is deeper, you need to split the hide to keep some thickness to it. Embossed leather tends to have a much shallower and more consistent pattern, which has a much softer hand feel. Sadly, embossed leather is not as durable and the pattern eventually comes out of it, leaving a fairly shiny leather.

I love the copper and tan interior countach, my favorite color combo. I've had similar color combos on vehicles because of this color combo on this vehicle.

Love the ending Iain. Like you were going to pass up the opportunity of giving a Countach the beans! Thanks for sharing the joys of these special cars with us.
