Caterham 620r Track Day Donington Park National wet and dry day April 23

Welcome to AcidCat620, my channel where a normal bloke tries to see if he can tame the beast, which is a 310BHP 500kg Caterham!
My second track day in a week (Footage from Silverstone earlier in the week, coming soon!) was at Donington Park National Layout on Friday 28th April with Javelin Track Days.
As I have been so focused on my weaknesses and coincidently have ended up doing back to back days at Silverstone, it's fair to say Donny took a session or two to get back into the groove.
This video includes some wet driving footage, some dry driving footage, my fastest lap and how I caused a red flag 🤦🏼‍♂️
You will see from the data on the onboard footage, my heal and toe still needs some work, however I am determined to stick with it until I get it right 🙏🏻

🫣🤣 I was more pissed at the fact I’d made a mistake. I adjusted my brake point from the previous lap thinking I could go in hotter, however what I didn’t realise was the previous lap I was held up so was not carrying the same speed 🫠 I do love Donny as a circuit 🏎🚀

Yes it would have made a good picture. 2.0 litre 231bhp isn’t too slow. Not 620R territory though 🤣

Thanks Aaron 🙏🏻 The car is sensational, never misses a beat and just takes everything you throw at it! Going to be interesting when I go testing when it’s surrounded by proper fast cars 🫡

Were they using the shortened track to need fewer workers?

Thanks for the comment. On different days they run different layout. This was the slightly shorter National Layout. I will be uploading more footage this weekend as I am back at the track tomorrow on the Grand Prix layout 🤙🏻🏎🚀

Apart from my crash, that was my first red flag incident. I wasn't sure what to do but they just said drive back to the pits 🤷🏼‍♂ didn't need a second chance, I was gone 🏎

Does the mirror not block your forward vision in that position?

To be honest it’s much higher than it looks. When driving I need to look up to see out of it, so no risk of losing a car in front behind it. 🤙🏻🏎🚀

@@DMAcidRacing sound 👍🏻 I had the same mirror but attached to the scuttle, but it was blocking the view of my passenger wheel, so I’ve removed it. Going to try a mirror attached to the top of the cage next.
