Uncomfortable truths 💯. The idea that "anyone could get scammed like this" is pure fiction - these are obvious, low level scams that many teens could sniff out. I was in contact with a man on POF about 10 yrs ago. We online chatted for a couple weeks. One night he called me and told of a horrible accident at his job site - that he needed $$ for new equipment. I laughed - told him NO WAY and blocked him. I was newly divorced and lonely, but no sucker. I’m sorry but I have zero sympathy for any of these folks.

I’m sorry but at this point it’s a CHOICE! She has a good job! She could make it on her own. And yeah I am saying this as someone whose mom always made the same choices, choosing abusive men and then staying with them unless they left her for another woman! Where I live (NJ) and maybe CT, too, since it’s so close Macaroni is used when referring to pasta (any kind) with tomato or marinara sauce pretty frequently in families with Italian American roots, especially with the older generations. My great grandparents (both born in Italy) always said “come over on Sunday for macaroni” lol. So I’m thinking that’s what she means and not Mac and cheese.

He was ancient, and his parents were born in Italy. They came to this country when he was a very young boy, and he called any pasta "macaroni;" I'd forgotten all about that until just now. Thanks again. (Edit: I grew up in Ohio, and he'd grown up in Connecticut, and moved to New York then to Ohio.)

They had a large gap of time between their two marriages and he likely changed. She didn't run right back to him, and she didn't say he is currently abusing her. You presume a lot. Oh, and there is an apostrophe when making something a contraction. So, "Chicks a masochist" would be "Chick is a masochist," or, in contractual form, "Chick's a masochist."
