I remember this incident. The A350 had to maintain a holding pattern over the Irish Sea while trying to raise the landing gear and dump fuel. I think I got a screen grab of the FR28. I would be interested to find out what went wrong.

Our Qatar airways flight Milan Doha on 03rd December morning flight had landing gear issue. After take off At 6000 feet or so, it suddenly lowered. Initially pilot proceeded for return back. Later gear went up and proceeded to Doha safely

They must have had to dump a lot of fuel if Asia was its destination, but one of those scenarios where the cost is secondary to safety.
