Cathay Pacific "Chef Nic" - Behind The Scenes

Күн бұрынNicholas Tse checked off another item on his wish list! Nic - a frequent flyer as we all know, has always been intrigued by inflight catering. We were honoured to realise this dream with him this summer, by filming Zhejiang TV’s “Chef Nic” right in our Cathay Pacific Catering Kitchen! Nic concocted inflight meals with the help of our Chinese Cuisine Consultant, Mr. Phillip Kwan, who was very impressed by his talent! Check out snippets of their experience if you wish to see another side of Nicholas!
*The programme will be broadcast on TVB Pearl on 18th Oct, and on our selected flights next year.

It's in Mandarin because this was from 謝霆鋒‘s mainland Chinese tv show 《十二道鋒味》 I personally rlly want a Cantonese version too haha but we shouldn't hate on Cathay lololol if we rlly wanna hate on someone, we should hate on TVB cuz they won't pay money to shoot high quality shows :(

TVB doesn't even do this show, it's a PRC TV station. And we all like Nic :)

to ppl tht question y r they speaking Mandarin,its because the chanel this tv show is going to be playing on is a 'main land china' chanel, obvs most ppl tht will be watching r those ppl tht can only understand mandarin! besides, nic's restaraunt is in beijing-a place where u speak mandarin not cantonesea

Never seen this before. It's weird.. I have seen the Insider's video.. about the same thing.. but for Singapore Airline.. and it feels so much more energetic. lol... Even though this is the same video. It doesn't give me that "oomph" ! :) And I don't know why... but even the other video makes the food looks more apetitising. Am not sure if people focused on the emotional aspect of selling a brand. Am also not too sure of the way the food is cooked as well. Cos it doesn't look like it's presented as if it was indeed a michelin-cantonese restaurant with its presentation.

I've just started learning Cantonese from last Tuesday. Would somebody please, write down the script in 広東語？Although, I have respect to Mandarin language, I like listening to Hong Kong people talking in their own language.

but why in mandarin. it is kind of insult to all cantonese speakers. cantonese is strongly demanded please. we are hongkong, cathay pacific is based in hongkong, not china. we are not yet part of the red china. or is cathay pacific trying to please all people in red china? really cant understand such a beautiful clip comes with a mandarin voice over. sad

karbo2 but it should be done in bilingual, cantonese and mandarin. it is that simple. the reason i hate mandarin that much is because chinese from red china are trying their best to force all other chinese people to speak mandarin which they claimed is the official language of great red china.

They served the best food in-flight on 30.000 feet above the ground. I tried the food and it was good

i guess that cliff just wish that all people in the world speak mandarin and make it the only language in the world. then red china will happy to death. i wont hate that mandarin that much if red china has no intent to force everyone to speak mandarin. it is that simple.

Cathy pacific has to be the worst airline in the world .This company will just tell lies. All to easy to make a big profit when you tell the customer one thing and then just goback on it some month later. They cost me 5 London Hong Kong returns. I even when to the head office and all the did was laugh.

My thoughts exactly???? What the hell is going on here? Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong airline with a very proud heritage. Why on earth speaking mandarin, the language of mainland china. The Chefs should be from Hong Kong and speaking Cantonese, or there could be expat western Chefs. But God..........not Chinese and speaking mandarin. Terrible.

Wenxin Tong sorry that's not why. it is because the show is broadcasted in China. that's the official language. This video was not really produced by CX. If it is, it would likely be in English or partial Cantonese with English subtitles. it's a interesting TV program though.
