So will your son receive first communion in 3rd grade? In our diocese, the kiddos do reconciliation and communion the same year, normally 2nd. I think my daughter will be 3rd because there was some...let's say miscommunication...about faith formation requirements at our parish. I've been upset about it but try to remind myself there is nothing wrong with it happening in 3rd and that it will be just as special!

We are restored order in phoenix. So at 7 I believe they typically get reconciliation and then at 8 they receive FHC and confirmation. We do grades loosely. If my son went to brick and mortar school he would be in first grade due to his late September birthday. But since we homeschool he’s in second according to his curricula And I hear ya on the parish requirements for sacraments. It caused us to switch parishes entirely when my daughter was going through sacraments.
