I'm 27 and I taught myself how to skate 4 years ago, you are seriously making me consider taking it seriously and trying to do the tests and try and compete.

I'm exactly the same! 27yo started skating around 4y ago too 😆 I don't have a coach tho I just do it in my own but now I am tempted to pay for a coach!

I started skating 4 months ago and I had a labrum tear. I’m 4 weeks post op and so sad I had to stop but I’ll be back in December 😌 I feel you girl you got this

Oh no!! Hopefully you recover soon and feel better. I feel you 100%, I thought I had a labrum tear at first too. To be honest, they are still having issues diagnosing me but I think I might have tore a hip flexor muscle. Good luck on the recovery and hope you are able to get back to the ice soon!

Congrats on your skate at Eastern Sectionals!!! I’m from the Midwest Section and just came back from the Adult Nationals in Delaware. Hopefully you get to go next year to Adult Nationals in Salt Lake City!!! 🥳 I am planning to be there!!! ⛸

I thought the same thing when I was 13 and it kept me from skating for too long, now I'm getting started at 25! You are neverrrr too old. Best advice is to just enjoy the process of learning without getting hung up on where you want to be.

Truly I feel like the injury gods just come after me every time before a big competition but fingers crossed that's no longer a thing! Thank you for your kind comment!
