The walk is called “LAVA WALK” she is from albay a province here in the philippines, which is famous for the mayon volcano, and thats were they got the name for the walk, the dress is called “THE IBON ADARNA” dress, a famous bird (or story of a bird) here in the philippines! The Introduction is very sweet and energetic. The Swimsuit rewrite the CATriona-Walk of any pageant. How did that S-L-O-W-M-O happen? She is one of a kind unbelievable! The Gown is genuinely made to perfection, it has no fabric, its all BEADS...like 500,000 BEADS created by Kapampangan Designer Mak Tumang. SHE NAILED EVERYTHING TO WIN IT!

I'm so glad you made this! I missed all these and it's great that I don't need to open various clips or look for them. Anyhoo, my favorite grown was that worn by Miss Russia -- so elegant yet sexy and royal in a way. That said, Catriona won most especially because of her charming and confident personality. That smile is contagious! I never realized that in some of her interviews that I saw, but it's very evident in this pageant.

I agree, with the evening gown part not being the best. But it’s a strategy of catriona not to peak too soon! So people will still have something to look forward to come the finals night. I think the hair during the evening gown could have been better or styled, but again, it might be a strategy. Catriona is smart and she know how to peak and when would be the best time to show a bang!

Mary Genebelle Diaz don’t get me wrong, I like the simplicity of the make up and hair. But it would look more elegant if the hair was styled more (soft waves maybe, hair in the side maybe); but I was also thinking that she might have strategically opted for a simple, straight hair so she’ll peak even better during the finals, that’s my guess.

Mary Genebelle Diaz also, I wasn’t referring to the gown, because the gown is unbelievably elegant and beautiful. I was referring to the styling during the evening gown portion. Possible that it was her strategy to tone it down a little, para pasabog sa finals, which is a smart move.

hugodiekonig pia’s strategy is not as specifically the same as Catriona’s. Remember her styling (hair and make up) in the prelims is the same as her final’s (chignon bun); also Pia’s red gown during prelims was borrowed last minute from Oliver Tolentino. So I would politely disagree. But I agree though that Pia and Catriona knows how and when to peak effectively.

Yeah it is Ibong Adarna inspired especially when you look at the gown closely. Even her earrings here was designed by Cat. She always make sure that she is always carrying something Philippine related.

Some girls let me down, didn't live up to the hype. Some girls naman pulled a surprise. Like Cambodia, Japan, Curacao, Kenya... It's still hard to predict the top 20 because of the continental format but no one can deny that Catriona will take it all the way to the end!

It was posted by her designer Mak Tumang and the other sketches for the remaining gowns Catriona's gonna be choosing to wear come finals night. This particular gown she wore in the Preliminary is called Adarna:Phoenix: The Blazing Siren. The details of the peacock-like feather-look is adorned by thousand swarovski crystals.

Catriona's evening gown is inspired from the Philippines mythical creature, Ibong Adarna. It was said (from Cat) that the gems on the dress was purely placed by hand. Lots of draft sketches and design prototypes were made and it took the dress around 8 months (idk the exact month) to finish it. Btw, Catriona's catwalk is called LAVA WALK because her trainer says that they invented that fast-to-slow walk because she's from Albay, Philippines where the perfect cone shaped volcano , Mayon is. Anyways, good luck to all ladies! Everyone in Miss U are pretty, hope that all of them is Confidently beautiful with a heart. Whoever wins deserves it! 💕💕

Guys the evening gown is actually based on the Filipino folklore "Ibong Adarna" which is synonymous to the Phoenix of the western culture...her gown is patterned with phoenix feathers
