This is the video (I think?!) I played for my dog to see what would happen. I also had two cats, one of which was a LOT older than the other and the younger one was notorious for meowing for seemingly no reason. So my dog Moose instantly got up and started circling my chair looking for the kitties and then went to the younger one Toby and sniffed him like 'Hey, YOU'RE not making all this noise are you?' The older one Doc came down from wherever he was upstairs and didn't even BOTHER looking for the other cats. He just went straight for Toby, tackled him and bit his neck, which was how he always shut him up. Toby just stared at him 'Dude! It wasn't me!'

I searched for this. I have a stray who visits me daily for food but she never meows. She'll eat and then sit on the chair in the sun. My wife suggested she doesn't know how to meow because her mother never taught her which is stupid but she was absolutely adamant that she had it right. Wanting to prove her wrong, I played this video loud and damn, that cat took right off..she was startled. Then she returned in a few minutes and started meowing.
