Fireforfiddle is just a name, to match the "Fiend of the Fell" (to have a nice alliteration so to speak). Now, "fiend" is a demon, and "Fell" is an old(er) British term for a small mountain (coming from the scandinavian word "fjäll" which means "rock" or "rocky wall"), which implies that there is a cat (given that it's all about cats) that haunts a site at a little mountain. Maybe like the Hound of Baskerville... only as a cat. Now "Fireforfiddle the Fiend of the Fell" is probably some villain in a theater play; in many plays - and movies - actors were rather praised for playing a credible villain than "the good guy". So no wonder Gus says that "Fireforfiddle" was his greatest creation. I personally consider "Fireforfiddle the Fiend of the Fell" as the "theater version" of "Macavity".
