Here are 4 more from Thursday in Walton, Ky on the CSX Shortline and the NS Rathole line.
We start off with a fast Northbound NS mixed manifest at the bridge that crosses over the CSX line. Following that, we get a very long CSX mixed manifest that snuck up on us with 2 mid-train DPUs in the mix too!
Then we get a Southbound NS mixed manifest that had to stop because it got caught by the defect detector over a "dragging equipment" defect. They had to stop the train and the conductor had to walk back 437 axles looking for the defect. That would be right at a mile walk! He found nothing wrong and once he got back to the locomotive they came South.
While all this was going on, we had a Northbound NS intermodal with a hot axle stopped about 2 miles South of the Gaines House on the main line. Once the Southbound passed him on the siding, he came North with a 30 MPH restricted speed, and they were going to cut that car off in the Gest Street Yard in Cincinnati to fix it. This is the second time in less than a week that I was stuck between 2 broke down trains. Had the same thing happen in Glendale last Sunday night too! Lol
I was in Walton with @JawTooth and @AdventureswithJoeyBoats on Thursday. We had a great day out together!
Thanks for watching!
