My cheating ex always asked things like that, because she wanted to gather information on how much I suspected. She also got upset when I didn't immediately say yes. Relationships should definitely be founded upon mutual trust, but yeah, being married doesn't just make that a given. Trust can be broken at any point in a relationship, and suspicion of dishonestly or unfaithfulness can arise with or without tangible reasoning. This story is an extremely good example of how to handle these feelings in a relationship; despite everything, he still puts his cards on the table and is completely honest with his feelings regarding the way she had been treating him, and her completely dismissing those feelings is quite possibly the biggest red flag anyone could ever give in that position.

That's what I thought. It's unbelievable that she was basically forewarned about her husbands suspicions and still fell right into the trap anyway... but then again, people do unbelievably stupid things every day, so who can say.

The pathetic attempt to gaslight him for her cheating…🤦🏿♀️😂 She is so deluded and in denial of her new reality of losing a loving and loyal husband. She lost a good one and it will hit her hard, knowing how good she had it and took it for granted saying “I want to stay married” Can’t have your cake and eat it too…

Gah the research triangle sucks to live in. It’s between Duke, NC State, and University of North Carolina Tarheels. Writers are very unbearable. They act superior despite having a degree that a middle school kid could get. I’m also getting mechanical or program/software engineer vibes from this guy. Smart man. Would explain his thorough analysis. He will do fine up north. East NC is basically full of Yankees. It doesn’t feel like the south at all. A lot of Yankees move there anyways. If you can’t tell. I’m a born and raised a western North Carolinian

My mom let my dad party with friends and go clubbing or to edm concerts on weekends without her. When I asked why she was ok with not going, she told me “if they want to cheat, they will find a way.” I can say with 99.9% confidence that my dad is super faithful to mom. Maybe he didn’t always passionately love her the whole 20 something years together at all times, but during those times his faith and loyalty was always strong. He believed in not only his love for mom but his love for family and the security of a place to go home to at the end of the day. Their marriage wasn’t always strong, and there are times when my dad expressed doubts to me, but during those times he had always chosen mom and our family at the end of the day. I had always respected that from him

OP has written something that is no doubt better than whatever Karen could come up with. And honestly i study electronics and write some code sometimes but i think i'm pretty decent at writing if i can say so myself. I think these kind of writers fail because they want to be like the ones that have success, doing that is stupid actually since you're basically imitating someone that isn't you while you can't even reach anything near their level.

Great story, real or fake I don't care I still enjoyed it. This story actually had me imagine different things and it also teaches us a few important life lessons 'What ever happens in the dark, Always comes to light.' 'Actions have Consequences' and 'Love cannot Live without Trust'. Leaving the old life behind was a difficult thing for AB and he came out strong, it was like a Phoenix being reborn. Clearly Karen took AB for granted and never appreciated everything when the affair began. AB was wise to trust his gut feeling to get to the bottom of the suspicious mystery, it may be a invasion of privacy but the truth was going to be discovered sooner or later. Though I am curious about the Fate of the now Ex-Wife Karen and her Affair Partner Frank, but we have our own theories of imagination on the subject. This is just my opinion, but I understand if you have your own opinions.

He could be paraphrasing, and when you're going through a traumatic event your brain will often store those memories better than a casual conversation w a friend over the phone. I remember certain conversations w my ex like they were yesterday. If I were to write it out, I'd write what I remember, but odds are I'm misremembering a detail or two. But the reader won't know, and it's the meaning that matters the most, rather than the subtle details of every single thing said
