Because of this they went into the oncoming lane hitting the Tesla. Definitely the Jeeps fault. Lesson learned here is to always have full coverage insurance!!

There are only two roads off the mountain. The Jeep would have been heading down Kyle Canyon Road after it took Deer Creek Road in that direction. So, the police could have set up a quick checkpoint there, and checked the parking lots at the Mt. Charleston Resort, and up at the cabins, and they would have nailed them. If it was important enough to them to do it.

The problem with those Jeeps is you can't make last minutes turns in them and you have to check your speed. When you are sitting that high they seem easy to tip because of the big tires. I had a Jeep and when the winds were high in Las Vegas it felt like it would tip while driving on the highway. This is really scary.

That's exactly what happened to me last year. Except I was stopped completely at a red, and this lady turning right missed both lanes and drove straight into me, going 60/70 km/h. Impact was so great that my idled car jumped and hit the van behind me. The driver didn't check on me, didn't ask if I was okay, and blamed it on black ice. The roads were dry. The only snow and possible ice were on the banks. Clear blue sky. My dashcam showed her being distracted. The driver and two passengers were not wearing seatbelts. The guy sitting in the middle at the back went into the dash. All them required ambulance. All of them needed care for their legs. Thank god my 05 beetle (in cyber green, best car I ever had, only 97k on it), absorbed the blow. If it were a newer vehicle, I would have broken my legs at the least. But head on collision, and I walked out with a concussion and whiplash. And wearing my seatbelt saved me from any more possible head trauma. Pissed me off so much when my car was totaled. I worked my ass off for that car. Im thankful I am okay, but when you worked tirelessly to get something, it definitely holds more pride and meaning. Nothing I ever got in life was free. My parents taught me things are worked for, not given out for free. So it hit much harder when someone so reckless inconvenienced someone who is a good driver. I had to swallow a lot of anger when I found out from her passenger who sat at the front that this was not her first accident. Driver got charged with an unsafe turn and reckless driving. I personally think it wasn't tough enough as a penalty. She should have gotten more considering this was not her first accident.

The video does not show what is being reported, yes the female blonde lost control of the Jeep, if continue to watch first clip, the Tesla is knocked back and proceeds to drive back into the Jeep, continuing to drive away, even driving up on the right side ditch, that would be leaving the scene of an accident, and is a crime, so I call BS on the initial report.

Jeep driver caused accident so her insurance should pay for the Tesla, but based on this video showing the Tesla clearly leaving the scene, I don't think she deserves a hit-and-run ticket.

According to the owner, the Tesla malfunctioned in a dangerous way and ran off. The Jeep did not run off immediately. To the Jeep owner, the it looked as if the Tesla ran off. Thus, they just thought "Cool, it's my fault but the other car just took off from the scene of an accident so I'm off the hook". It's neither owner's fault, it's the Tesla car company's fault.

Floor mat pushed on the throttle pedal, it happens a lot really. Jeep was going far too fast on that turn; it's called pushing in a turn on the race trak. That was no race trak.
