Woefully inadequate penalties.

The artic driver in clip 5 should have gotten at least 6 points for that imo. Punishments are far too lenient for highly dangerous manoeuvres that put other road users at risk.

None of these penalties are strong enough.

These penalties are far too weak. Many of these manoeuvre could have killed someone and they got off with a driving course...

People who drive recklessly e.g. overtaking on solid white lines, overtaking dangerously and running red lights should have their license taken off them. They already know they are breaking the law, so a driving course ain't gonna work!

These videos and penalties just highlight what an utter joke our legal system is!

Some of those don’t deserve a licence, unbelievable outcomes for absolutely insane driving..

Honestly anyone causing another road users to have to take drastic action to avoid collision should lose thier licence. That's a narrowly avoided fatality.

Penalties like these are hardly a deterrent.

We all make mistakes and misjudge things on occasion but it's pretty tough to accidentally overtake on a blind bend with a solid white line. Very surprised some of these got away with awareness courses when they were far more dangerous than some speeding offenses that would get you an immediate 3 points (talking about 60 on a rural 50 road not doing 70 past a school in town!)

What really annoys me about these kind of drivers is, they simply cannot conceive of any circumstance in which their bad driving would be to blame if they caused a collision. It is ALWAYS the other driver's fault, and especially so when it's actually not!

Love the "Attended a driving course". It's a bit lame especially when it's a HGV driving pushing his way through putting other lives at risk.

Personally I think £100 fine and 3 points is way too soft on these self indulgent muppets. How about £1000 and 9 points as they won't do it again for sure and none of this Driving awareness course as they clearly are aware and just don't want to wait. Good to see a human life is worth saving 10 seconds on your trip!

Serious quesion, If they are convicted of the offence, why the need to blank out the number plate, their personal details are already in the public domain via court records?

In my village, lots of people get caught doing 42mph in a 30mp zone - the problem is that only about 10% of drivers do anything like 30mph because it feels so inappropriate for the road. Seeing some of the really dangerous driving in these clips, I agree with other posters that there should be more serious penalties.

These penalties are far too weak. some one is going to get very badly hurt.

A license is a privilege….respect it!

£100 is NOT a deterrent. £600 + court costs + victim costs + 6 points = YES! ALL infractions should be reported to their insurance company. THAT would be a long term deterrent! And anyone on a driving course to MEET someone who has had a family member killed by a dangerous driver!

So what's the criteria for being charged with dangerous driving then? Most of those examples were wilfully negligent and highly dangerous. Carless driving my arse!

I don't know about driving without due care, they should have been done for dangerous driving too, and received a 12 month ban and a £1000 pound fine.

So there you have it. The worst case of driving and all the driver gets is a poxy driving course. No wonder the roads are lawless. I'm surprised the police even bother, they are let down so badly by the courts.

There is some seriously dangerous and reckless driving here and the punishment is a driving course? Seriously? I drove really slowly through a rural village with a 30 mph limit. As I approached the 50 mph sign, just metres from it, I foolishly started to increase speed and set off a camera which clocked me doing 36 mph. I got £100 fine and 3 points on my licence. And some of these characters are driving like that and getting LESS than me. I was doing 36 on a quiet road and was the only person on the road and get a bigger punishment than somebody literally speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road and forcing somebody else off the road.

Here’s some advice to the courts and police. Fine these people 20% of their yearly income, and if the endanger anyone else with their driving ban them so they have to be re-tested. No leniency when lives are on the line

Attended a driver course? Really? Years ago I did 37mph in a 30mph zone, nobody around, clear road and got £60 and 3 points, no wonder people have no faith in the justice system any longer!

Struggling to understand how the first clip is in the wrong - the road layout is designed for them to be in that lane and the lane doesn’t close until a couple 100m up the road
