That last story about Ganguly sacrificing his spot is 🔥 We (both India and Pakistan) are guilty of worshipping our players as heroes. But all that matters is the win at the end. This is why India can't win any Finals. And this is why Pakistan cricket is in such a poor state. We need to stop glorifying centuries and individual performances in losing causes.

Individual perfomances win you games, But that individual performance should come from atleast 5-6 Players Throughout the whole WC, That's how you win trophies. Look all the wc's india won, Every player Contributed. But if only 1-2 Players are scoring runs you can't win tourneys, Just like Virat In T20WC after 2012, Only He performed, No one else even crossed 100 Runs in whole tourney. Check out the Stats before coming and barking anything.

Great talk in the video. Eye opener for us Pakistan cricket fans on : 1- how structured the overall infrastructure is in India , the selection and fitness criteria 2- how honest and professional players can lift the level of country’s cricket. I.e. the combination of top players and board together results in steps to elevate their overall cricket system over time(5-10 years) 3- forget instant gratification by just following and expecting miracles from a below par team in world cups. Be realistic and have a sense of how mediocre we are as a cricketing country. Have a sense of where other countries are. 4- don’t glorify your good players to make them feel they are top of the world already while they are actually miles away. We need a winning TEAM, we don’t need stars who can’t shine because they can’t contribute to winning causes 5- Nourishing leaders in sports is most important, a good players are not enough to carry the weight of this nation’s expectations. It’s not an individual sports, it’s a teams and squads sports. The best combination wins and the combination extends to beyond 11 on the pitch on the day.

Indian cricket allows talent from the smallest of places regardless of provincial or other reasons like Dhoni who came from a small town. But Pk still has the mindset of regionalism and thus batsmen from the traditional nurseries of batting are not getting in the team. Vikrant Gupta doesn't know this fact and his knowledge in this area is superficial.
