What makes America so incredible is the people within it, not the ones who govern them. The declaration of Independence is why, and the Constitution is how we keep Americans free from tyranny. If other countries were a democratic republic with a free market economy, we'd see them become almost as incredible as our country is. We can thank our founding fathers for developing the greatest place in the world.

There was only one night game a year. On the Fourth of July, the whole sky would brighten up with fireworks, giving us just enough light for a game. We played our best then because, I guess, we all felt like the big leaguers under the lights of some great stadium. Benny felt like that all the time. We all knew he was gonna go on to bigger and better games, because every time we stopped to watch the sky on those nights like regular kids, he was there to call us back. You see, for us, baseball was a game. But for Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, baseball was life.

I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone else only Ray singing America the Beautiful. Every time I hear this song by Ray I feel the love of God and his grace upon me. America is the only chosen country other than Israel in the world, it is here for a reason. It is to be a righteous country. God has promised us if we would only remember Him and repent He would protect this nation . The United States is a nation under God and when that changes we will be destroyed as a nation. I believe we are in the beginning stages now.

This is my America. The one I grew up in, surrounded by friends, outside until the porch light came on, drinking from the hose, laughing, church, no fear cause we felt we could trust the election process and we were safe. I miss the simple life it was. It wasn’t always easy, but it was a good life. God, we need you now. Forgive us. Wrap us in your grace and rid us of this tyranny. Bless the people of Canada, Father.

Shouldn’t be about race but about the love a man has for his country. Regardless of what shit he ACTUALLY went through during those hard times, he still loves his country. THAT is what it is about. Standing for what you believe in, not what you are.

I love this version. " in school we use to sing it like this!" Got at my young girl heart. Back in a time where people loved their country. Now days is just sad. People priding themselves on all the wrong things. Selfish, angry and Godless and it shows everywhere. You are still a treasure Ray. I love you.

Even if you do believe in a god, why would you think that this all-powerful being who created the universe would "bless" one nation, created by men, utilizing slave labor and the decimation of indigenous people, and not all of humanity. Patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels.

modoc97405 Two things: one, do you have nothing better than to harass everybody who says God bless America, and two, this is a direct quote from John Adams: “The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

modoc97405 Paraphrasing George Carlin & quoting Samuel Johnson in one sentence. Sounds intellectual and academic but it isn't. All you know is what you've been told. Go think for yourself a while.

This should be our national anthem. As grandiose and rousing as the Star Spangled Banner is, there’s something far more emotionally touching to the melody/lyrics in America the Beautiful.
