Cayenne is incredibly warming, it stimulates circulation, and also affects pain receptors to provide some pain relief. This salve is so cozy and relaxing, it almost feels like a glass of wine or sip of whiskey. You know that spreading warmth that starts small and then just wraps around you? Or is it just me waxing poetic over spicy lotion? Anyway, it's one I clearly enjoy and am happy to share with you all today! I hope you enjoy it as well.
I fell in love with healing plants at a very young age, I've been formulating my own personal care products since age 8! The more I learn the more I think it's better to have a deeper understanding of a few herbs (or plants) and become really well acquainted with them than know only one or two uses for all the fancy herbs you can get online! This makes it so much easier to make formulations for yourself and your family without a recipe or trying to look up what each herb is good for or purchasing a lot of expensive herbs online! You can start by becoming very comfortable with local wild plants or maybe some of your personal favorites or things you can grow easily to close the loop on your medical supply. Learning herbal medicine is all well and good, but if you are relying on imported exotic herb supplies that is not going to help you much in a time of crisis! Being able to grow or forage your medicine and knowing the plant and its properties intimately will give you a lot more control and flexibility in your healing practice.
My husband has been seeing a chiropractor 2x a week for physical therapy and spinal manipulation to correct some damage from an old injury that has escalated into quite the painful issue for him! Poor guy is in a lot of pain and so I'm making this specific batch for him. I have made many variations of a pain relief salve over the years and I'm sure I'll share other formulations in the future as well!

All I know is I had Crohns many years ago and found that eating fresh Cayenne would calm down attacks and put a stop to the pain. I love peppers but none of the others had the same effect. Sometime after I discovered it a friend at work who I only saw once or twice a year popped into my office after hearing I had the problem and he had been dealing with it for a while. But he said I know the secrete weapon for it, yeah Cayenne. I laughed, told him I believe him but I'm already ahead of you buddy. lol I dunno, there truly is something special about Cayenne besides being one of my favorites.

This actually works great! I made it a few months ago & it's also great for Peripheral Neuropathy of the legs/feet too.

Can you use powdered Cayenne pepper? If so what would be the ratio of C pepper & 🌶️ coconut oil? Thank you

You could, you'll end up with a slightly gritty finished product and probably have a little sediment but it's doable, I'd probably do 1(possibly heaping) tsp cayenne powder per 1/2 cup oil to start and you could easily repeat and make it stronger if you want after testing it. You just don't want to burn yourself with too much pepper.

Thank you could we get the measurements please ? And I’m wondering how you get it to harden please ? Thank you kindly. ❤

All the info was in the video. You can scale the batch however large or small you'd like. Just make sure you have enough oil to just cover the peppers while they infuse. Coconut oil is naturally solid at room temp, so you don't need to do anything to make it harden. If you use another oil, you could add a tbsp or two beeswax to solidify your salve if you want or use it as a liquid massage oil.

What kind of oil do you use and what kind of peppers. Do they burn your skin? Do you leave the seeds in the peppers

It's Cayenne Peppers, and currently, I'm using tallow as the base. I really enjoy it, but you can use any oil you prefer! In the video, I was using coconut oil, and that is amazing as well 😀 yes leave the seeds in. It gets strained out so no reason to fuss with taking them out! Hope that helps! Best wishes, - Cora

Can I use this internally? Like taking a tablespoon directly on an empty stomach for maximum effect?

It's totally edible! It's just an infused oil and can have many benefits taken internally or used in cooking.

@@apinchofpatience awesome. Thanks. I already use olive oil in the morning so I think adding some cayenne would help even more.
