It was at night and within 45 minutes it was into their homes. 10 1/2 inches of rain within very little time. Flooding isn’t as common there as most people think. My family in eastern Kentucky has lived by the river for 65 years and has not ever been flooded other than a few inches. This isn’t something that happens a lot but for some reason people think that it does. Also people think people who live in Kentucky are behind the times in some way. I’ve traveled a lot and Kentucky has every single thing that every other state has. Kentucky is a beautiful state and in no way has anything less than any other state. Don’t believe what you see and hear about Kentucky people. They are well educated, kind, friendliest and the most resilient people I’ve ever met. It has nothing to do with being “poor” or the state not having money for any kind of emergency response. That’s nonsense.

When a downpour occurs overnight as people are sleeping, they can wake up to find the streets, and maybe even the first floor of their homes flooded. They can’t drive away and sometimes they can’t get out of the house. Even if they can drive away, sometimes they’re caught by a sudden flood of the road they’re traveling. Once a person is in fast moving water, anything up their knees can easily knock them down and sweep them into even deeper parts of rivers or push them into trees and other debris. Some die of head trauma.
@hizzlemobizzle
@hizzlemobizzle 2 жыл бұрын
You answered your own question. Yes it rises so fast they cannot react. It's especially bad if it happens at night when people are sleeping. Think about it do you panic and run everytime it rains? Add to that the fact that many people have a hard time even accepting they are in danger. Think of the people who throw hurricane parties at the beach.

The first time it flooded, later last week, it was flash floods in the night. My aunt woke my brother and I up to tell us there was flooding at 3am. Also, we’ve never had floods like this before in most of our lives. The oldest folks in our region can barely remember the last bad floods and even then they say it was nothing like this.

yes catastrophic flooding is like mass shootings. Once there was one there is nothing unusual about eventually seeing them everyday. So because there were floods in the past it is not unusual that we see them becoming more frequent and severe. No matter how bad things get we can always make it better by pretending it's not happening.
@laymansview5246
@laymansview5246 2 жыл бұрын
@@hizzlemobizzle The only reason you see them more often is because of technology. Flooding is common and no more severe now than the floods we had in the 80's. As far as mass shootings, also because of technology. But also because of stupid leftist anti-gun policy. Way back when I went to school, we took guns to school, and no one got shot. We had hunter, thus gun safety classes in school. Your analogy shows just how well people have been brain washed.
