The part about getting back on the horse is beautiful. Even with all of the unimaginable tortures this virtuous man went through, he still knows the relative trauma of someone who has broken their collarbone, because that is all the pain they know at the time. But no matter the struggle, it is crucial to (literally and metaphorically in this case) get back on the saddle and face your fears one more time, even if they beat you down the last time. What a truly moving eulogy this was, about a man who put EVERY OUNCE of cynisism to rest, and instead decided to defeat it with love. Rest in peace sir, I hope you are proud of your daughter.

Only a few daughters could ever speak those words about their father. Beautifully spoken, tears filled my eyes and sorrow filled my heart for the pain she is feeling right now for the loss of her beloved father. I wish I could of had half that love she had. God Bless her, and her family.

Megan - I have more respect for you than ever. Your eulogy to your dad was so heartfelt, and he would be so proud of you. I never realized all the great things that your dad did for America. That was evident by all the bi-partisan friends he had, and those that had the privilege to attend his memorial service today. @@nitrand She wept openly, while her family remained stoic at the Arizona state capitol service. Many criticized her for it. As if there was any reason to criticize a person grieving over the loss of a loved one. Hard to believe folks could sink so low as to troll a funeral. America has been like a person delirious in fever in the last few years. I am saddened to see so many sacrifice the best in themselves to an altar of hate.

I spoke at my Dad’s funeral. He was a WW2 veteran and a true hero. He only gave his name rank & serial number. He was also the greatest man I ever met. He never got this attention for his service. A daughters love!

It's a badge of honor for Trump, that he wasn't invited to these funerals. And even if Trump was invited, he shouldn't have attended anyway, out of self-respect. It has been seven years since my father passed, and when I speak at how great he was, I weep like a baby, my eyes turn red and tears run down my face, unable to complete any sentence without pause to recover. She can stand and speak of hers, just days after without one tear. She is an oak.

I absolutely loved Megan's eulogy. There is no greater praise could be offered than how you described your wonderful father. He absolutely represented the best of American ideals, and did what he felt was right, even if he found out, through hindsight, he was wrong. He was above all, human. It's really a shame others in our government don't try to follow his example. America would be great, with the "rhetoric" you described if they did!

Yeah, when almost 70% of items in your stores are made in China and companies running away and those remaining are using robots to replace human labor coupled with uncontrolled immigration. What does this picture paint for the future of the young college graduates who are neck deep in debt? You people reason with your emotions not your heads. You are in such a mental stupor to the extent that you ridicule someone who has seen the direction the country is heading and has left the comfort of his blessed life to fix the problem. Kathleen McQueen, If that's true, then why the mixed tenses? Why not "has always been great"(including right now)? Did America stop being great at Waco or Oklahoma City, or when the Towers were brought down, or NAFTA exporting of jobs, and later, of citizenship rights and free health care, or kids killing their classmates, or their teachers using them as political tools, or the media fanning gender, racial and political hatred? All of it during the 24-year sandwich of Democrat/New World Order rule? No! We're supposed to believe that America abruptly fell from greatness when Donald Trump became president. Then there's that liberal/feminist doctrine that children don't really need fathers...

Folks, this isn't political. Not really. Today, for this family, this is about saying good-bye to someone they loved. If you can't understand that maybe you haven't lost your father yet, or your husband, or a dear friend. People, in the normal course of their lives, make mistakes. That's human. We all do it. Most of us are just lucky enough not to make ours in the spotlight of public life. This man, and this family, has lived in the fishbowl of public existence for all of their lives. If we can't take a break from politics for one moment & mark the passing of one good man, flaws & all, then America really will need to be made great again.

Truth be told, I don't like Meghan McCain much, I can't really take her in heavy doses when I see her on a day-to-day basis on her talk show but I have to say, this was a great speech and a beautiful homage her father and 13:07 of this video, gave me goosebumps everywhere. RIP to her father. Great speech Megan.

I really like her and a moving speech. I didn't like her father's politics but we need to separate the person from the politics. It's in bad taste for those to use this situation as another opportunity to attack President Trump however for his past criticism. John McCain and Donald Trump were/are not saints. Let's keep that in mind that we all face an inevitable end and deserve respect as human beings. In my humble opinion. RIP Mr. McCain.

I too thought of the poem High Flight when I had heard the passing of John McCain. Very touching eulogy Meghan. I know the loss of a parent. You never get over it. You just learn to cope better.

Meghan uses her fathers' name to make a living. Meghan is married, but she uses her fathers' name because there is no money in her married name. Meghan has limited skills and she will do nicely because as a 'McCain' she is 'privileged' the same way she condemned Trump for.
