Can i just say do not grow big trees under or around power lines have less cement and roads and let there be more available soil and flooding and downed power lines will decrease. All home thst were destroyed look at why how often that happenes and then make the appropriate changes. Tornadoes destroyed a town multiple time require them to build out of rock or metal make it illegal for a house to made of wood in Tornadoe hot spots. Hurricanes lift the home make an average 5 to 10 feet off the ground closer to the ocean the higher up you must go. Stores with there massive parking lots lets say over 5 acers reduce it make a parking garage request the top be filled with plants the sides with vines and the now available soil plant native trees to reduce heat flooding air and ground pollution.

How are they claiming that a "remnant" of Beryl caused flooding in Vermont? Makes no sense.

Well just because it's a remnant doesn't mean it's fully dissipated. It just means it is no longer tropical. They can be big rain makers!
