Actually, you can pick up your elf if you cover your hands. Use a blanket, cloth or piece of clothing. Make sure it's not your bare hands. Adults can also pick up the elf with bare hands, IDK why but they can. A child touching an elf doesn't destroy them or anything, (I'm not exactly sure what happens in detail since I've never done it) and for those wondering... Yes! You can be granted permission to touch your elf AFTER Christmas passes! If you request to your elf if they can stay a day or two after Christmas permission will most likely be fully granted with the child allowed to touch them. You can even request an entire year! Whether or not the request will be accepted is due to a child's behaviour. There was one year with me where I was terribly sad my elf was leaving. I had permission to keep and touch her for three days. When I was eight, I asked if she could live with me! She did! I received a letter from Santa Claus saying to take care of her. I brought her on a cruise and everything. However, through the year due to a lack of Christmas magic, your elf will really only be able to move (like they do at Christmas) when the season starts up again. I think one year is the maximum since that's all I had. She appeared on my birthday (like usual) and had to stay for 2 weeks because of quarantine. When she just didn't leave! I don't why, maybe she just wanted to keep me company. But I didn't touch her (barehanded) because I DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION. She didn't move around or anything, but I would still talk to her. I put her on a shelf and she watched anime with me (LOL). Now she's moving around again!
