Step by step: Helping paraplegics walk

The Food & Drug Administration and the Veterans Administration have approved robotic exoskeletons - devices that enable people who have lost the use of their legs to stand and walk again. But many paraplegics who could benefit from the life-changing devices are finding huge hurdles to actually access them. Lee Cowan reports.

@@Duricas the cost of physical neglect is much higher long term.... Bone loss, skin breakdown, organ issues even digestion. The body is unfortunately a well integrated machine behavior and maintenance intertwine tightly.

Yes please God my son is paralyzed from the waist down he suffers from urinary tract infections all the time .he is in and of the emergency room taking so much antibiotics and a lot of time they become resistant to his body he is 37 years old .but that doesn’t stop him he is fighter. Thank God he haves two wonderful daughters.

It is a shame that you have to sign a paper waiving the privilege to sue a health provider before they do surgery. It is kind of like blackmail. If you don't sign than you die on the table.

A veteran is approved the device, but isn't able to do the training for it because it isn't offered in his area!? How illogical is that! Why can't the VA offer to pay for the stay in an area that does offer the training? Veterans should have to want for NOTHING!❤

I’m paraplegic now for 15 yrs. How would I get one of this ? From 22 years of age until 37 yrs old now ? . I wish one day one miracle may be done on me. Been suffering for so long 😥😥😥😥

At 49 years I met an accident and became a paraplegic, Now I am 51 and a paraplegic for 2 years, Even this 2 years is very painful and only by our personal take career's we are able to pass each day, my heart goes for all the long suffering people and hope and pray all will get cure soon inclusive me, T7 paraplegic from India.,

set up a time to go n peep is about every 3-4 hrs depending on how you drank. Bowels are once or twice a day depending upon your food intake and what you eat. Dairy products help with it. be constant and you will start enjoying more of LIFE.
