Ke Huy Quan didn't expect a Hollywood career when he was picked as a child to star as Short Round in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.” But success, having peaked early, was short-lived. Now, after decades working behind the camera, Quan returned to the screen in the acclaimed "Everything Everywhere All at Once." He talks with correspondent Tracy Smith about what it means to have won the role for which he's received an Oscar nomination.

@@fredwerza3478 i think Culkin quit acting because his father Kit pushed him into the business and the amount of money Macaulay was making in the 90s led to lawsuits with Kit and Macaulay described Kit as Overbearing. Luckily Macaulay cut ties with Kit. Macaulay as an adult made a guest appearance on Will and Grace, he made cameos in youtube shows like Half in the Bag and The Angry Video Game Nerd. In 2018 he reenacted scenes from Home Alone in a commercial for google assistant. Macaulay is also a musician in 2013 he formed a comedy rock band called The Pizza Underground. The band's songs mostly consists of Parodies of songs by The Velvet Underground with Pizza Themed Lyrics. Macaulay is now a father himself he had a child with Actress Brenda Song and he's also a godfather to Michael Jackson's Kids. And by the way Macaulay's aunt is actress Bonnie Bedelia who played Holly in Die Hard.

Ke is truly seems like one of the kindest, most genuine people to ever come out of Hollywood. I dont think the man has a mean bone in his body, seems extremely humble and grateful for the second chance at acting he's been given. And it's nice seeing a childhood star story that didn't end in complete disaster. I hope all of the good things continue to happen for him. Everything Everywhere All At Once was an incredible movie and his performance is completely deserving of all these accolades. Also it's kinda cool he ended up getting to live both a famous and a regular life, I'm sure there are days when huge stars wish no one knew who they were. That had to have contributed to how down to earth he is.

He does not realised how many times in Singapore we have rerun his past movies in the 80s and 90s on tv. I grew up watching him… his movies will always be a staple of entertainment in my household.

Bias can take over like the plague. Like a virus, it never really leaves. I just want to say that after reading many of the comments here, it makes me so happy to see empathy, love, and support in action. Hoping my future grandchildren can never comprehend this subject.

I tuned out of the awards ceremonies ages ago. Rarely did the “best” win. But I will have to watch. I soooo hope this amazing actor wins the Oscar. It will be like when underdog Roberto Benigni won and scrambled over seats to get to the stage. No one thought he would win, so they seated him waaaay in the back. I think he kissed everyone on his elated scramble to the stage. It was a truly memorable Oscar night. I’m rooting for you Ke, and I think so is America! Bonne Chance!
