I’m cooper and I’m 15 years old. Got started with guitar about 5 months ago, went into my brothers closet grabbed his Yamaha Pacifica and amp that hasn’t bin touched in over 3 years, looked up my favorite band, Sabbath of course and you were the first vid that popped up. Awesome Marty, CCR passed me by back in the day (I’m 50 now gulp), a few weeks back I got their greatest hits, sooo many great songs!

Nice lesson Marty! I see that you play mostly in Standard tunning, but if you want to play it the way John Fogerty does, then you have to tune your guitar to Standard D tuning. His brother Tom played the rhythm part in Standard tuning and both parts overlayed which gave CCR that great tone. You can also see that John plays his parts in D tunning just by looking at their concert footage as well. Play these songs in any tunning you want, it'll all sound good!

More superb John Fogerty stuff. He’s always been able to take fairly simple licks or riffs and make them into cool-sounding rock songs.

I just started playing electric a few months ago. I have learned so much from your channel and enjoy the live jam sessions you have with guests on your couch. I have watched many different people online try to teach how to play specific songs but none have the ability to break it down like you. You make it easy to follow along and explain each note to play as you go along. Keep up the great work!

I came here to see how Marty would play the line in standard tuning but I heard a difference in the opening riff. The lower note sounds more like 9th fret (B) to 7th fret (A) to 5th feet (G) but then the next move you should be staying on the 5th fret (G). Not that it’s THAT big of a deal but that’s the difference I heard between Marty and what the recording plays. Love the channel. Keep it up, my students love your videos as do I.🎉
