How to setup a simple CCTV Camera all by yourself.
Connecting the AHD cameras to the DVR using the Coaxial cable and providing power to the cameras.
This video also shows how to connect the monitoring screen.

You would have to go into the settings of your system and turn off alarms. I suspect power or video termination issues as the cause of the non working cameras. Please check your terminations

I suspect the DVR has lower technical specifications than the cameras you tried on it. You will have to check the specs of the DVR to ascertain the specification of cameras it can pick.

Yes, male to female. Please note that you can only connect male to female or female to male, you can't connect female to female or male ro male

No and Yes. No because it is not a requirement for the cameras to work. The cctv system can work perfectly without an internet access. Yes, you need internet when you want to be able to view your cameras on a mobile phone or any smart device, other than that you dont need internet.

1. You would have to check your Terminations for both power and video 2. Power polarity must be observed 3. The BNC Terminations should be done in way that there won't be contact between the inner core and the external braid of the Coaxial cable.

@@Tech_Inside_Out thank you. It looks like both of my cameras to get powered on. I plugged them direct to the socket and no power. The same power cable powers on the dvr box. But don’t really know how both cameras stopped working. They’ve been put away in storage for a few years, and worked fine when we’re taken down. Thank you very much for your reply.

I don't quite get what you are referring to but the green socket close to the power supply input area is the PTZ camera control cable input. Let let me know if that is what you are referring to or is something else you need clarification on.

When the cameras are more than 4, you would need a higher capacity DVR. The one i used is a 4 channel DVR, meaning it takes a maximum of 4 cameras. You can get 8, 16, 24, .....
