Robert shares his experiences of working with Vinnie from recording demos when Vinnie informed him that he was joining KISS, to the court battle over quitting the Vinnie Vincent Invasion after recording the vocals on the first album, only to discover new singer Mark Slaughter lipsynching his vocals in a music video, to working with Vinnie again on the never released "Guitars From Hell" Demos and finding out that Vinnie's erratic behavior has only gotten worse over time.
Those stories are only the tip of the iceberg as you'll hear in this no holds barred, fascinating interview with a man whose first hand knowledge, memories, and opinions give more insight to the "Rock 'N Roll Soap Opera" that is the mystery of the former KISS guitarist.

Love Vinnie and regardless what a lot of people say, he did help revitalize KISS. I'm so sick of people that down his contribution's towards KISS, like the three sides guys. To be honest, Creatures and lick it up are the two albums without make-up that pack the most punch. I loved this interview, man, it was so awesome to hear.

You can’t blame Mark Slaughter, he had an opportunity to do something and did it. It’s not as if he couldn’t actually sing the songs. He deliberately tried to sound like Robert. He also said that Robert had an amazing voice. He also said they had him as he said “ Glammed up to the Max.” Mark told the real story about how he was called for the band and it was Dana that got him to come in and the label made the final decision. Mark is really cool and down to earth.

Loved the Gene thoughts moment! Robert uses one of his cooler voices on his new material. Should have used it w/ Vinnie and they all should have used Vinnies different writing styles.......like the Warrior demo, etc...Hell Vinnie could have sung everything.......Creatures tour ...The True Return of KISS!

+fmbighair Robert was invited to the ceremony when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (in the picture, he is in the middle) and later invited on stage at the concert afterward. As of today, Journey has not been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it \m/

It wasn't going to the top and coming back to square one again, Vinnie played for Kiss thus made a name for himself, which made it super easier for him to land a record deal.

Yes! Last I heard he is still in the TN area, but the person that told me won't say exactly where due to his privacy. He is sick...not physically from what I understand. Apparently one of his sisters "looks after him". We know he is online a lot still.

Ok so I just listened to this let's be clear Vinnie can never be compared to Yngwie and songs Yngwie s earlier albums were loaded with great songs. VV solos are absolutely HORRIBLE he ruined all those great songs you speak of great songs terrible solos.

They grew on me. They add to the overall over the top vibe and aggressiveness of the album His solos are miles more melodious and technical than Kerry King from Slayer

Ingvar Malmsteen is just a fast guitarist. He never wrote a good song, fast guitar playing is not popular a anymore, nobody wants to hear it. Vinnie is a fast guitarist too and he's a great songwriter. Ingvar cannot write a song.
