I married my husband for the wrong reasons. Alot of mistakes were made before and since the marriage. He has turned his life over to God and wants to stay married. In trying to love him beyond all the hurt he caused, I'm constantly going back to who he was prior to giving his life to Christ. It's definitely a work in progress but I'm trying to love him as Christ loved me. Thanks ladies for sharing ❤️

The Lord's been speaking to me about remembering where He brought me from, and how Jesus loves us regardless of our past. Jesus is the ultimate love and security behind a marriage made and built in Him. He also has been reminding me of how Hosea was told to love someone that wasn't very loveable. We are the wayward backstabbing person that nailed Jesus to the cross. God help us to love others!!! even when they don't deserve it, and know Jesus is the ultimate one carrying us.

When Bob and I got married. Neither one of us knew Jesus. After we were married about three years. I accepted Jesus. Bob wanted to stay married. It was really hard but he finally came to the Lord. It has been wonderful. I would do it all over again. It hasn't been easy.

I know this is exactly what I need to hear in my failing 23 year marriage, and I will keep listening to this kind of teaching. I am just tired of the fact that it is always me who is trying to learn how to make our marriage better, and not my husband. I am so tired of the effort.

As a two years divorced christian woman (my spouse left), I have great respect for not only these women but their utterances and I gotta say they helped re-inforce my decision to remain single and live for CHRIST. Marriage is alottttttttt of work and compromise and after being in a 4 year marriage to a worship leader/deacon who felt unhappy so he decided to move on to someone else, all because he deduced I didn't do enough to make him happy in marriage, I'm soooooooooooo good. But the content shared in this segment is inspiring. GOD bless.

I absolutley enjoy listening to your womens bible study. Thank you for your honesty and advice. I am praying God is preparing my future husband. I have been single for years, working on myself trying to learn to trust again and want to be married again. This time around, a Christian man. I pray God will bring him my way and that I will know when I meet him. I'm not desperate and if it is meant for me to be alone, so be it, but I like the idea of having a best friend, partner, companion, confidante, lover, protector in my life. I won't compromise. God knows exactly the desires of my heart. Please pray for me. Thank you 😃🙏

CeCe’s comment about the Pastor and his wife, not only reminded me of Hosea, but the love that God has for us. Most people would be bitter if their spouse, not only left them, but left to sell their bodies but in that moment it was love that compelled them to do whatever it took to win the heart of their spouse back to them. That’s real love. That’s deep, and I want to love my husband like that, the way I am loved by God.😢❤

Hollywood movies have taught western culture that if you don't feel 'Im in love" feelings in the marriage, automatically they assumed there is something wrong. But feelings are fickle. You won't feel "I'm in love" feelings everyday in the marriage. Marriage is a commitment, choice, faithfulness, honestly and selfless love and care.

This blessed me. I think it’s my second time listening. It’s hard to remember to stay out of my feelings but to hear others acknowledge that they change often so make a choice to love - that thought resonates with me. It’s so easy to get upset but there is greatness in making a decision above all else...I hope that all makes sense.

My husband and I have been together for 8 years, married two years May coming and I'm happy I'm seeing this because I struggle at forgetting the past hurts my husband caused me. Hey, I’ve been married for almost 3 years. For me I always wanted to share my life with someone so I naturally love it. We overcame big struggles, even before marriage. From overcoming we are even closer. It’s not about feeling forced or obligated to love, it is a choice that nourishes your marriage. It challenges our selfish nature of “ what’s in this for me?” because God says a successful marriage is putting the needs of your partner first for their well-being, and I’ve found that to be true in my short experience. So I would say the “good” aspects of marriage would depend on you uniquely and what you value. In my opinion I love the companionship, joy, laughter, healing from childhood wounds together and determining to have a healthier family life than we experienced (we both have rough backgrounds), praying for each other and encouraging each other. Those are a few! God bless you and enjoy being single, I definitely did.

I've been married almost 22 years. Yes, there are many many positives! 1) God uses your spouse to perfect His character in you 2) Companionship! A consistent presence who loves you and always has your back (provided you chose wisely) 3) Someone to walk with you through life 4) laughter!!! Someone to laugh with all the time 5) Shared memories! Someone with whom you build a lifetime full of shared experience 6) Someone who knows you inside and out and still chooses every day to love your sinful self 7) Shared burdens. Someone who shares your pain, empathizes with you, and walks with you through it.... There are many many benefits! I would marry my husband over and over and over again. It's worth it!!

I wonder if there is a marriage that isn't work, if you wait for the person God has for you is it ever just effortless. Does it ever jjust flow for some ppl? does that exist?

Life as a whole is not effortless, so marriage won’t be either. Just like everything else, marriage is work. But with the right person, it’s work in well doing. Just like someone who’s going to college to study for their degree and the result is a successful career and great income. The type of work, effort, & dedication is well worth it. Your marriage should be the same. If you’re losing yourself or your relationship with God, then it’s not the right marriage for you! Hope this helps

When people say marriage is "work," it can sound like a chore. But that's not really how it is, when people say marriage is work it simply means you have to put in the time, effort, and attention to continue to grow in marriage. With the right person you still have to navigate life together and still ensure you both are growing together and growth takes work. It means you both are working on weak areas and learning in grace how to strengthen in those areas. Work means you're always showing up as best as possible. Anything God gives us requires some sort of work to grow it successfully.

It can flow. But that doesn't relieve either party of making choices that benefit the partnership. It will require compromise and careful considerations. The flow comes when both parties understand this.
