The trees in the background with their leaves changed to brilliant fall colors are absolutely beautiful! I love how you and Matt work on home projects together to get them accomplished. Y’all are a perfect example of how couples in a marriage are suppose to work together as a team. I hope young people see y’all and choose their life partner wisely. It will be interesting to see if y’all actually do go out in the snow to take a popsicles break. 🥶🥶

Oh my goodness I just saw the battery charger that Mat used to start Katie’s car! It is so amazing! I just went on AMAZON and bought for my honey for Father’s Day! I so enjoy you and Mat and y’all’s special talks with each other and us. It blesses our hearts so much! Mat is so much like my Honey, so kind and good to you, and it shows so much! He has his own little way of letting you know his family is very important to him! That’s how my honey is! We have been married 41 years, and we both are so blessed to have each other. We have one son and he will be 27 June 12th. He’s not married yet, but just waiting on GOD to direct his path to what ever he has planned for him! We just love y’all and have never met, but we feel a connection. Praying y’all to keep blessing folks the way y’all do everyday! I can’t wait for the next joyful event! ♥️

@@CelebratingAppalachia I agree with Robin, Tipper, the trees behind y'all are some kinda pretty in their splendid fall colored garments; their cloak of many colors, so to speak. I found myself getting distracted by their gorgeous colors and I have to agree with you and Matt that they're going to peak early color-wise this year. My [now late] mama used to eat squirrels when she was growing up during the Great Depression [she was born in 1930]. She said that they were good eatin'. I've never eaten a squirrel, but my son Andrew killed his first one down in the low-country near Beaufort, SC, a while back and he said it didn't taste that great. I guess it's because it was a swamp living squirrel and it ate stuff that made it taste not so great. Hopefully when he moves to the mountains of Appalachia he'll get some that taste better. I have to say that you and Matt have both found a True, Fine Love [as the Steve Miller song title goes] in each other. Take care and enjoy the cooler weather. Hugs and good wishes to everyone from New Bern, NC. That slice of tree trunk looked heart-shaped. . .maybe that's why you originally wanted to keep it. Your house looks nice with the fresh coat of stain on it.

I’m about the age of you and Matt and I can easily remember that we had more snow in the 70’s. I’m from Alberta (prairie province in western Canada) and while it definitely snows here every year, I have a vivid memory of there being so much snow that we were standing on the very top bar of the swing set in my friends yard! Plus we dug snow tunnels and my brothers attempted to make an igloo! I lived in town so we rarely missed school but when the country kids couldn’t be bussed in we would have a pretty fun and easy day at school. It’s funny how I don’t like being out in the snow much anymore but sure miss those carefree snowy days! Love your channel and learning about your lifestyle where you live!

You should use that beautiful slice of wood you had as your top to the barrel because one side of it looks like a heart for your coffee table between your chairs. I agree. The peacefulness is precious. We have a nice yard and veggie garden with trees around but we are in City limits. Our city is trying to stop the problem we have of the ding dongs who like to take there cars and screech and spin donuts till the burned rubber smoke is on top of us. It really ruins the mood. I hope they never see that sort of thing in Appalachia.

Matt - Oh joy ; ) on hanging up Tippers' Treasure back on the side of the house. Maybe you could create a long horizontal board or pipe that attaches permanently to the side of the house. Then Tipper would be able to hand up things with out making more holes - you could either use wires or such to hang things on the pipe anywhere along the length. Sort of like the Amish have around their rooms - a permanent ability to hang things anywhere along it. It is just a thought.

The brown marmorated stink bug came from Asia and hit big in the Maryland Piedmont about 12 years ago. The first year they were of near plague numbers. A lady I worked with had to use a vacuum cleaner to suck them off her interior surfaces. They tamed down after that first year until this year. I've seen, and killed, more these last couple of weeks than I had seen in the last couple of years, by far!

Those bug things Matt's talking about is Bot fly larvae. Daddy always waited for frost for squirrels and a snow for rabbits because of it. Those chickens are molting late, aren't they? I laughed, it looked like your keep pile was way bigger than your get rid of pile. We had to move a few times in the last fee years. You don't like stuff as much when you have to pack/move it a few times, lol I enjoy "visiting" with y'all. Stay warm! Stay safe and GOD bless

The porch looks so nice, sounds are so peaceful. The comment about this episode of Hoarders made me laugh too, sounds like something my husband and children would say to me : ) Funny too how he pitched the turtle shell way back. My thought was that could be put in a garden bed/planter somewhere for decoration too, maybe with a pretty little (flowering) plant peeking out of it. In trying to clean out - especially my mother and father's belongings that they kept - my "that's a keeper"/ "I need those" pile is usually bigger too than my trash or "leaves here" pile much to my family's chagrin or frustration : ) The trees in the background look really beautiful there.

Galvanized washtubs that brings back memories . Tell Matt that the winter of 1976 into the new year of 1977 was the winter that the snow ,and freezing temperatures closed the school for 43 days . It was good that we did not have to make those school days up . Thanks Tipper, enjoyed.

Matt is so funny- he’s going to waller in the grass when the frost comes. That doesn’t compare to coconuts looking like toenails. Keep cheering us up Matt.

Hello from East Texas! I recently found your girl's channel and then your's came across my feed. This reminds me of my Granny: the original reuse and repurpose! I'm fishing today. Gonna be cool on the water but the fish will bite I'm ever hopeful. Blessings to you and your family. I'm an instant fan of the channel. Fish on!

I got my hoarding from my daddy, we could have been on hoarders! Haha, I'm sure he still can! I remember being around 10 when my g, great Auntie said "when I die I want you to have the wood cooker".... Ummm I remember thinking that thing must be 3,000 lbs! She did all her cooking on it. I think back to it now and really wish I have had a way to get it. I've been told they knocked her house down to make way for the church. Breaks my heart, I haven't been back to Robbins since she died.

The fall colors behind you is so beautiful ❤️. We live in Oklahoma and they are saying that we might be getting snow this week. I never remember it snowing this early in the year.

Loved this. My husband and I are the opposite. We get rid of everything! There is nothing I like more than a clean surface. 😂

"That concludes this episode of Hoarders" 😃 Nice fall leafs in the background. Popsicle break! I haven't tried the watermelon or suntan flavor, but the mango & other flavors are good. That porch looks great. Stinkbugs backpackers, that's cute. 😀

What a beautiful background! Can't believe the trees are changing color already! Time sure flies. Still blazing hot in Florida but we've got a couple months to go yet.
