The ceremonial marching in unison, in full attire, is breathtaking & the music deepens the soul. I’m across the pond but DNA test results confirmed my Scottish heritage. Perhaps that’s why I am so mesmerized by this music & can’t get enough of videos like this. 🕊

@@neilmcbeath954 He never was a popular guy. Must be quite a shock for him now. I actually quite like him. Looks the part, his marriage seems solid, smart wife, nice daughter and I suppose his son will turn out fine as well. Learned his lesson the hard way when he dropped out of the para’s and started that horrible production company. You don’t have to be a high flyer to become a successful royal as Anne learned us.

@@jamielyallleathan And if you decide to reply to someone else's comment you should probably take the time to read it adequately! I am fully aware that these events happen on special occasions!!! Nevertheless I still want to ascertain how I would find out about these events in advance. If you don't know the answer to my question then don't bother answering with an irrelevant comment that has absolutely nothing to do with my initial question.

If the army didn't spend this money on ceremony, your potholes would most likely get worse. In times of relative peace, these activities help keep up soldiers' spirits, binding them with a sense of regimental identity. It is also possible to over-train soldiers in their primary roles, demoralizing them and lessening their preparedness. Pomp and pageantry also serves to help the local economy, bringing in tourists' money, improving the tax base that pays for the potholes in the roads. Losing one ceremony in one location would not see much of a change in the equation, but if all the UK were to cease all public events by the military (or worse, by the royal family), the economic loss would be somewhere between noticeable and painful.
