For the record, Kurt Cobain's "autobiography" was actually a collection of his literal private letters and journal entries published after his death. He did not intend it to be published for all the world to read. I would like to think if Kurt would've written an autobiography it would've had a much more creative title than "Journals".

I do realize celebrity memoirs are not everyone's cup of tea (and that's perfectly fine) but many of the ones I read are actually quite good. "Me" by Elton John is a very boring title, yes, but it's a great read. I wasn't bored a single second and he is very honest. It opens with him telling how he peed himself in a diaper during a performance due to prostrate cancer treatment. I only knew him from The Lion King and onwards so reading about his earlier career was very interesting. Highly recommended.

I absolutely hate celebrity memoirs. I can understand a biography or even an autobiography from someone who has lived out a long life, has perhaps retired from their career, and now wants to write about it, yet for a celebrity who is in their 20s to 50s to write a memoir of their life is just an egotistical exercise.

i agree. though i feel with zayn, his wasn't a memoir as much as it was a way for him to say things he didn't get the chance to and explain his side of leaving one direction and introduce his fans to his solo career, but other than that I feel like with other celebs it's moreso a cashgrab or a push from the celebrities team to "write" a book.

About Zayn's autobiography. It is basically him talking about how he decided to leave One Direction and the journey he went through while writing his first album when he still had to deal with the aftermath and the hate he got for leaving the band. He mentions his childhood and how the way he was brought up affected his music. Lastly he talks about his anxiety and how it sometimes gets the best of him ( see when he canceled one of his first solo concerts).
