I would definitely live in the mansion of Tom Cruise. Although, I will not be able to afford the bills or maintenance, I’d buy my own food. So. It would be myself and my three adult children, since they’re not married and they don’t have kids yet. But we could make it there. 😂 Otherwise, that a ton of living space. Perhaps way too much.

Great video, I’m closing in on my retirement and I’d like to move from Minnesota to a warmer climate, but the prices on homes are stupidly ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%) do I just invest my spare cash into stock and wait for a housing crash or should I go ahead to buy a home anyways

There are opportunities if you know where to go, as you noted that it wasn't difficult for me to earn more than $780k in the previous 10 months. Since I was aware that I would need a reliable and strong plan to get through these tough times, I engaged a portfolio advisor.

These selfish people are the reason why everything is up as far as housing goes ~ they are always empty and prove to be wasted resources. I never understood why people build these huge water wasters and never live in them?

That's nothing, you can have that with the staff of 3 to 10 people, depending on a size including thongs like drivers or guards. Now try to imagine having a 20 mil yacht, and just the crew for basic operations, and that's people all with high qualifications whose pay is much higher than of a maid or gardner, despite doing the similar job, the one on a yacht is paid 4-5 times more, at least that much.

I married a cattle rancher and lived in his 9,000 square foot English Tudor mansion for 6 years before I left. I found it to be very lonely when I was the only one there. I spent time in the garage with the dogs he didn’t want to be in the house. I no longer feel envy about the people who live in these houses.

Nahhh. Every one Needs 30 rooms and 9 bathrooms. Well .... Family of 5 only needs 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms if you can afford it. Why we see too many NFL, NBA or other Sports people buy a 10 million dollar home and go Bankurpty after 8 years.

@@kylemcgran Could the problem be that these mansions are customized to the owners taste & this means that the appeal of these homes to a broad buyer's market is just too narrow? Tommy Lee's house has a recording studio which I'm quite sure wouldn't be something that a lot of people would be looking for. I mean how many people are looking to buy a home with a Koi Fish Pond? Not many I'm sure.

That's the truth. A company that I retired from has a flat roof and it leaked the whole time I worked there. Roofing maintenance was coming to work on the roof about every two years.

Flat roofs add to AC electric bills in hot climates. Having a bit of an attic space for insulation helps save on energy costs. But I guess if you can afford a mansion, it wouldn't matter.

Very lonely houses. Give me a good solid log cabin and a huge fireplace. A big porch. Low maintenance. Easy, relaxed living. Room for some company , keeping it cozy and rustic.

I'm a homely girl so I would enjoy all of the rooms as I'm sure they did at the time they lived there , some are sooooooooo amazing but yes expensive to maintain and taxes are phenomenal I would be extremely tempted to bring the homeless home , as I am that kind of girl ,or children that have been abandoned as those type of individuals usually have a heart of gold 😘 and are very grateful of any attention given 👌

So much space these people take up. These homes require so much maintenance, inside and out. Who cleans it? The power bill would be huge. He is so dependant on others to maintain his lifestyle, he's a prisoner in his own home. Now he's stuck with it. The way the economy is looking these homes will eventually be abandoned like so many others decaying around America. What a waste, and Homelessness rampant in America, there's no balance therefore disaster. I prefer my little tiny house🏠and maintain it myself. 🙏😇❤️

While I agree there's a lot of waste in their lifestyle, so long as it's their primary home (which with these particular homes doesn't appear to be the case), I can totally understand it. They can't go anywhere without their fans or paparazzi getting in their face, so having a large beautiful space to wander around in privacy is probably pretty critical to their sanity. Now if you aren't publicly famous and can actively participate in the world around you in relative anonymity, you don't really have much of an excuse.

Some of these homes most are just so huge they don’t even feel like a house. And a lot are outdated. Why would anyone need nor want a home that huge the upkeep and taxes on these homes. I wouldn’t want a home that’s even sat that long. Most these be homes are over the top will sit and decay.

It would take a whole staff to keep that place clean-- much less take care of repairs-- etc.. and heating/cooling, electiric etc.... that size of a place is just ridiculous... Personally I LOVE castles-- and If I had the money- I'd buy one-- BUT I'd only live in part of it- and make the rest a hotel- or place for Corporatios to do their meetings, retreats, etc. and that way PAY for the upkee with the property and its attraction to the outside world.

This is why you don't build/live in McMansions... you can't unload them to the rest of the population because celebrity and ultra rich people are so few and far between in a society that favors getting the most for the least amount of money. I mean honestly in the 1980's I started with a paycheck at $4.25/hr which was $0.25 over minimum wage. Here it is 30 years later with minimum wage just hitting $15/hr after much teeth pulling to get things through Congress. Throw on the fact that the upkeep for these places is way out of sight price wise for most people and you're stuck with a money pit that won't sell very well if at all.

Just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean that you've got good taste or smart business sense. Why are all of these places SO BIG? How much room or rooms do you need. How much "staff" do you need and have to pay to take care and keep clean all of this excess stuff? Can you ever be alone in your own house? How much are the taxes and utilities? How much of all of this stuff is money down the drain? So much waste.

There are abandoned mansions all over the world 🌎. The value of these things is somewhat perplexing. And it's always been. Sometimes you can't even get homeless people to want to stay there.

These houses doesn’t look cozy at all! Even if I can afford these, I wouldn’t buy any of these. Too huge for a family. Good size home for a family with a cozy design is what I would love.

Elon Musk's mansion - which appears to be in Hillsborough - is quite attractive. I can't say the same for the rest. If I had megabucks, I'd just live in fancy hotels. Simplifies everything.

I don’t know about any of you guys but I live in a little four bedroom cabin/Home in the woods of Idaho I couldn’t ask for anything more. the homes display here on this video strike me as cold unapproachable just no warmth whatsoever. anyway I’m sure most of you disagree with me

My favorite is Elon's because it's historical, but I wouldn't live in California for a billion dollars. Runner-up would be Tom Cruise's place because I love snow & winter.
