Hello, today I'm reviewing the Celestron NextStar 130SLT Telescope. Its a pretty good and affordable device, and its worth considering if you are in the market for a telescope. My comments and reviews. Thanks for watching.

I recently bought on Amazon too for much more than 350 euro and, out of the box, it was without the required piece to mount the optics (9mm and 25mm). Amazon was concerned and gave me back a 10% refund (53 euro circa) but most importantly, I solved with a great friend of mine that build things for telescopes. He sent me the missed piece and now I'm finally approaching to this fantastic world. Got my first collimation, I saw Jupiter yesterday in a sea place (weather is still very hot, details can't be optimal independently from the telescope) and not bad as first attempt. Anyway, for starting, I'm satisfied but conscious that you can't get great things at the beginning and most importantly don't give up, be patient and faithful. Time, experience is the best payback in this field. Great video, cheers!

Hello. Move the clamp of the motorized base so that is horizontal. Make sure you release it too so the two holders are open. Then just slide the tube inside the holder of the base, and tight the holders. I have done it many times, just make sure you hold the tube horizontally and with both hands. Hope this helps.

Excellent Video! Thanks so much! My son just got this model from my sister & niece (which they'd originally purchased about 10 years ago). I appreciate your thorough description of everything, as this seems quite overwhelming just looking at the paperwork I've found online. Since the original paperwork & software have been lost, I'm starting all over again - as I do not have any idea about telescopes! I'm curious if you have any suggestions as to where I might find a video or simple instructions as to how to clean the celestron nexstar 130 slt.... This one definitely needs cleaning, and we can't wait to see the supermoon tonight! :)

I own a Celestron SLT-130mm. Aperture instrument. The batteries only last for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on your Slew Rate. Looking at your Slew Rate, your batteries are almost Empty of power. If you want a REAL power source than get yourself a "Battery Lead Acid Rechargning Battery with Cigerette Lighter Plug"that is why your Slew Rate is really slow. You need a "Lead Acid Car Recharging Battery connected with the Cigerette Lighter" to get your FULL 4 degree Slewing without loosing power!!

I actually got mine for $30 dollars at a pown shop.The small square things(sorry for lack of a better word) you put the battery in was corroded and unusable, and I had no power cord. But, I realized I could fit it with two nine volts. It works great now(:

Puedes poner el telescopio en posicion vertical para poner las baterias. You can set the telescope in a vertical position to put the batteries in the compartment. It is much easier.

can u rotate it via PC? Do I need a WiFi Module or can I just connect it via normal patch cable to my network and let the telescope stay in the balcony and just remote control it from my PC in my room? and see everything on my PC? What do I need to use it like that? I seriously want a fucking good quality telescope with remote control functions works via Network. the WiFi module is too expensive for that what it does, not worth that money in my opinion but I would buy it anyway IF I need that to use and control the telescope over the network

Hey! Would it be a good purchase for astrophotgraphy?
@ricardandres2883
@ricardandres2883 8 жыл бұрын
Nope, you should buy an EQ goto mount for astrophotography, like a CGEM DX or a AVX, and you should buy an Apo refractor OTA, with 6" diameter, only if you have that money, or a 9" and a quarter SCT ota

For a GoTo Telescope with a 5" inch aperture, yes this is pretty damn affordable. Do some research and you're gonna see GoTo scopes well over $600 with similar optics. You are paying for the GoTo motor and Database. The aperture itself isn't that expensive as I have a 10" Telescope for about $175 more than this but without a GoTo device which can make the telescope a pain at times. It is all about what you are trying to see and how you intend to do so.

because we earn more, if things were available to us at the same price than we would just be getting richer and richer and than the rest of the world would be left dry (so to speak). minimum wage in us - $9.25 ph minimum wage in aus - $18.29

Good day, You did not tell if a photo camera can be fixed for astrophotography. How to make astrophotography, have you tried with this telescope Celestron NextStar 130SLT? is there a risk to have light of stars traces on the photography due to discrepancies between earth rotation and motorized rotation. I would appreciate your view on this, thank you for the good video
@sergiopa2002
@sergiopa2002 9 жыл бұрын
ClickernVideo Hello. I did not try astrophotography with this telescope yet and therefore cannot give you much input on that. If I ever try it, will post a video here for sure. Thanks for watching.
@freddyacosta2358
@freddyacosta2358 9 жыл бұрын
+ClickernVideo "The risk" will depend in how you set your camera. When you take a long exposure photo without a telescope for example, there can be risk of gettting star trails. For astrophotography, you must have a bit of knowledge of long exposure photography and photography in general.

I don't think you can see mirror scratches while looking through the scope. You will just see a degraded image.
@szaki
@szaki 7 жыл бұрын
Few, light scratched don't mean anything, only scatter some light! I've seen people use mirrors that chipped or glass piece broken off from the edge. If the scratch is in the center, it would be in the shadow of the secondary, so has no effect at all. But, of course, some one buys a new telescope, he wants it perfect, when paying full price. No one wants to buy a new car with dent in it, would we?
