Kids are the best man. A few years back I was in a bad place, my parents were getting divorced, I was struggling with depression, and I had terrible self-esteem issues. That summer I went to work as a counselor at a summer camp. This was already amazing for my mental health since I made a lot of new friends and was able to get out of my chaotic household. The cherry on top was during a week when we had super young kids staying. I was playing with a small group of them, we were running and laughing and one of the girls (about 6 years old) suddenly stopped, looked me dead in the eyes, then sighed and said, "You are SO pretty" and then kept playing. A chunk of my soul was healed that day
