This is part 2 of the complex Celtic knot canes, in which I show you first how to create an inro and then how to use the Celtic knot canes and veneer it.
This makes a somewhat large medallion that can be used as a wallet that fits a credit card or two and some bills. Make it about half the width and 3/4 of the length f you want to make a smaller one that would only hold cash. That way, if you go to an event, concert, venue, you don't have to carry your purse with you.
If you are not familiar what an inro is, you can find information here
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inr%C5%8D
Part 1 (making the Celtic knot canes) can be found here:

I love everything about Japanese culture, but my most specific focus is historic Samurai and Geisha culture. I also love everything Polymer clay, so you can't imagine my excitement when I saw the words "Inro" and "Polymer clay" pop up in my YT feed. Christmas has already passed, so maybe I forgot it's my Birthday?! 😄 This is one of the most wonderful things I've seen on YT in months! 😍 Here in the Midwest we're under 2' of snow already, and it's still coming down. So thanks to you, dear Lady, I just found my "snowed in" project for the weekend and then some. You're absolutely amazing. 😳 Thank you SO much for sharing this! 💕👍

A kindred soul! I am fascinated by the Japanese culture as well. The Geisha history and culture is a common thing. Due to my academical background, I was more inclined to study their art, their mythos and the fabulous phylosophies. I think I am very influenced by them, as I have to make great efforts to make any kind of pieces that have many colors or many lines, I am more inclined towards the simplicity and the elegance of it. The inros are one of the art objects that I found fascinating. I have adapted this one and changed the way the strings close it, so it would be more adapted to the Western taste, while trying at the same time to avoid irreverent synchretism. I am delighted that you like it. Tip: look for my faux mother of pearl tutorial, and then for the pair of combs I made with faux mother of pearl inlay. That is absolutely spectacular to make on an inro, and you can even combine it with the faux gilded leather or faux lacquer. (I have tutorials on all of that, look for my playlist of faux effects)

@@KalyanaDesignTutorials Thank you for your guidance, and for sharing your apparently unlimited expertise with the rest of us. I was positively enthralled with your opal series, but somehow I managed to miss out on the MOP vid. So guess where I'm headed now? 😄 Better late than never. 😉 Arigato gozaimasu, Kalyana-Sensei! *bows* 😳
