I was brought up in Glasgow. I left in 1990 and I have never regretted leaving. The casual sectarianism was heartbreaking for a city with such potential. Sadly I saw people wearing Ireland football tops and people wearing England tops arguing about Scottish football... WTF? I gave up.

If we are being honest,both sets of fans have elements to them who cross the line with their songs, let's not try to make one set out better than the other. Most fans on either side are decent, but it's the idiots who are most vocal and make the most noise who give the overall bunch a bad name. I could find a video at a wedding where they are singing f the pope and the ira. So it isn't just Celtic fans who are at it.

what annoys me is they claim to be Catholic or protestant yet not one of em could string a sentence together let alone tell us the 10 commandments or any story from the bible. And then the Protestants go on about the Queen! what's the Queen done for us Scottish people??? If the Queen loved Rangers so much then why are they suffering skint in the first division of a crappy Scottish league?? With fans who skrimp and scrape and work their ass off to buy a ticket. The Queen doesn't even care if you lot even exist yet you worship her. Don't even get me started with the Pope. Bigots don't even have the right to say their religious when neither of them have even stepped foot near a Church!

To be fair Diego in 2006 the landlord would not have known in 2006 what Murray was up to. Some Rangers fans smelt a rat. They were taken in. But we're speaking now with hindsight. We might easily have been taken for the same ride. Let's bear in mind that Fergus' profit came out of our pockets. We can say is that it was above board.

Pragmatic1 Ultramagnetic Im afraid you are wrong the last time the IRA had any significant support in the republic wouldve been in the early 70s, after that when the PIRA stepped up their terror campaign, people in the republic become disillusioned with them, when they began targeting civilians and openly declared their disgust at their activities People in the republic and world wide were disgusted with them after the likes of Bloody Friday, Enniskillen, Omagh, La Mon Bombing, Teebane, Kingsmill Massacre, Darkley, Shankill Road Bombing, Tullyvalen, Canary Wharf, Claudy, Birmingham etc etc As a result their support in general on the entire island is virtually non existent as these new dissident groups only have at the very most 300 members and any given time.

Just because its been sung for years doesn't mean its right. Slavery was the norm at one time and that doesn't make it right? I think the issue is not so much Celti/Rangers, etc. Its about decent people and assholes and all clubs have their share of both.
