So lovely, bittersweet... incredibly beautiful... fit for any kind of departure. Made my eyes a bit misty it did. Een so... in a bright major key full of hope. No wonder it was popular during the war... So many that never returned, so many that passed without reuniting with their loved ones... Thank you, ladies ❤! And yes, eyes still watery...

I have heard this song sang so many times by so many different people, so I was not all that excited to hear another rendition. Also, I have always felt this song is best sung by an Irish tenor. Wow! Emer proved me wrong. Listening to her perform felt like I was hearing it for the first time. For whatever reason, the song had more meaning to me than ever before. Very inspiring performance. Well done Emer! Well done!

I could listen to Celtic Woman 24/7, from its first group to the group now & every single group in between. I know it is Tara, Megan & Chloe now plus whoever fills the fourth singer spot; I do miss Mairead & Eabha very much, but I really hope the group can tour the U.S. & I see them live in my area in 2022. I truly love every single Celtic Woman as a whole; listening to your music & watching the 2017 Homecoming DVD daily since 5/28/21 & henceforth honestly completely changed my 2020, my 2021 to date & will continue to change the rest of my 2021

A beautiful song. A 6 stanzas/verses English song, that has traditionally became associated with Ireland. Too bad they did not sing all 6 stanzas. Note the original song by English writer Frederic Weatherly in 1913 had only 4 verses (two were added later) and the first recording of Danny Boy was produced in 1918 by Ernestine Schumann-Heink.

Are you serious, I'm trying really hard to learn this song for my son to sing to him I always would sing it but I never knew all the words, I have fahrs disease which is basically calcification of the brain so it's really hard because my short-term memory is so bad, how much more of there is this song to learn and what is the best version you would suggest please, and thank you so much😅
@johnnypayne96148 ай бұрын
@@angeladuffield2860 most just learn these. Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so! But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an Ave there for me. And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be, For you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
