Millions die daily having never been know by billions, who are also soon forgotten. Remember them also, for all the did, said, knew and saw are like the final words the Rutger Hauer spoke at the end of the original Blade Runner film. "All those moments will be lost like tears in the rain"

@@will-i-am-not We think and speak alike. Between now and when the sun expands to vaporize our oceans, perhaps we will actually evolve to be something worthy of the Time granted to us. There is great beauty during all the suspected futility of trying to transcend among others who couldn't care less. However, simple cares, and our serenity, these are good markers of our having been here. I lived without the steady burden of any societal war, and I beat the 1-in-20 odds for being born in the USA. I count my blessings less often than I truly should, but clearly more often and for the proper reasons, in contrast I think to the many styles of people I must still deal with each day. Just saying, I like your style. Live long and prosper the innocent deserving around us.

@@cindydavis1555I beg to differ. As one who visits old graveyards and buildings, I can tell you that spirits or ghosts, are very real. Hopefully, someday, you will experience the paranormal and come to appreciate that the afterlife is not to be feared, but to be explored and looked forward to.

My wife I drive our old Chevy truck all over the state of Arkansas. We love being out in the middle of nowhere and coming across an old cemetery. We will spend a lot of time looking at everything, making sure things are in order, and giving the dead the respect they deserve. The serenity is unmatched anywhere.

I am glad I finally found my people/community here! Anytime that I tell anybody that one of my hobbies is visiting old cemeteries, they look at me with strange looks or tell me that I am depressed! Oh well, what do they know about the beauty, history, tranquility, and peace that these old cemeteries hold! I am SO glad that I found this channel. 💛

Oh you aren't by yourself, smile. I have always loved the beauty, peace walking thru cemeteries, especially the older ones. It's like opening, reading a book from the past. There is such an enormous amount of history in them. I used to walk through one I lived near when I lived in Eureka Springs Arkansas. There was a 3 person site, surrounded by a low stone enclosure...on each corner of the enclosure were statues of large dogs. There was a smaller dog at the headstone of one grave... turned out to be a young daughter. I walked my poodle thru this cemetery...it was a large, safe place to walk him. But it is true, each time we went there, he'd want to go to that gravesite...and lay on the grave of the young girl. Yes, the other two graves were her parents. I'd sit along on the stone wall. Once leaving, my poodle seemed concerned, whining as though something was wrong....I tried to soothe him, see if I could see anything....as we were leaving I heard, as did he, a little girls voice whisper "goodbye". 💞 It stopped me and then made me smile, as I whispered, you are welcome .

I’ve seen this in a few states that I’ve lived in. The government spends so much on frivolous things, why can’t the government pay for once a year for a group to go out to all these cemeteries and clean them up? These people matter and I find this so sad. Thank you Donnie for all you do.

Yes the gov. should but also it wouldn't hurt the locals to do the job. When you involve the gov. like the cops, bad things happen.

Imagine sitting around a camp fire by a small rippling creek way back in the woods listening to Donnie tell stories all night long. That's why the spirits of the ancestors come out and the birds are so quiet when you are around Donnie, they are listening too! Thank you!

There’s a difference between those people and the ones coming here today. Those people were immigrants, looking to better themselves by hard work, and the opportunity’s this country afforded them because they were willing to work. The people coming today for the most part are here for a handout, they are not immigrants, rather, parasites willing to take government handouts rather than work for what they are getting. I know there are a few good ones, but I think that’s very few, from what I’ve seen in a border state. I know this comment will make some people mad, but I call it as I see it, and I’m not worried about political correctness just as most of the people in those Cemetary’s wouldn’t be either. Good video

Now our tax dollars are feeding and clothing them and giving them shelter. It’s not right and even the ones that allow it know it’s not right. Thank you for sharing this with us! My grandma used to take me wild berry hunting with her. She came from Poland & we lived in the NY/NJ area and whenever we passed a forested area we would stop and walk into the woods and inevitably find not only massive wild berry bushes, but always ended up in a forgotten cemetery. I loved (and still do) reading about the person written on their grave stones. Always sent them love. Love & Blessings in Absolute Abundance to All! ✨💖✨

Ever since I was a child I’ve loved exploring cemeteries. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been able to see and hear spirits but, they’ve always been places of peace for me. My momma and my grandmother used to take me to visit the places where our ancestors were buried and tell me stories about them. Because of them taking me, I took my kids and now they know where their 4 times great-grandparents are buried and where they lived. Families need to pass on this information to keep that link with the past.

In my early twenties I used to do the same. Visit old cemeteries and read the headstones. Haven’t in many, many years. Videos like this are fascinating

Many years ago, I lived in Morgantown wv. My son and I went to Point Marion. On the way back in a very sharp turn we noticed an old cemetery, we stopped to see it and looked like someone drove through it and broke and scattered many head stones. We spent several hours trying our best to put them back best we could, making sure to get them right. Many were in the 1800s. I felt like the folks buried there deserved to have their graves fixed out of respect. Them things were very heavy, but we did the best we could. I hope them folks are resting easy knowing someone cares and they are not forgotten. Thank you for posting this, our history matters.

I just opened this and am astounded at seeing all these old head stones of these beloved quiet unadorned nature returned cemeteries,,,somehow they exhibit such a solemn graceful beauty in there very quiet place on Earth,,there history one can only let the imagination be free in thinking if the lives before us,,with your most soothing gracious voice you help bring forth the love of country and to all of those who came before us,,,Thank you so much for the caring,,devotion in bringing this to us,,seems so very worthwhile and breathes life full circle,,we don,t forget those who graced the earth before us❤

Donnie, It's always been a bit of a hobby of mine, looking around old grave yards here in England 🇬🇧, so thank you for sharing these amazing places, with the old tombstones. You have such a lovely calming voice and accent, which added to the peacefulness of your video. Really enjoyed and appreciated it. 💙 I have taken many photos myself of orbs and once experienced grey mist rising up in front of me as I was doing house work, there was absolutely no reason for it to be there, other than a visiting spirit as in your video. 💙That was their moment in time, and now this is ours! I appreciate you, for sharing and keeping the memories of the past alive. I especially love to watch your old cemetery videos. The unexplained is something I'm interested in, but wouldn't want to be in those cemeteries by myself. It is amazing how fast old cemeteries an old homesteads are taking over by nature, when all the caregivers are gone. This video honered a lot of veterans, and people long forgotten, but, never forgotten by God. Thank you Donnie. May God bless you.

Im blackfoot,Cherokee and Irish mixed, I was born in Tennessee and moved when I was seven but before we moved my mother would take us kids on walks through the woods there's a super old cemetery off in the woods in Hairson Tennessee where the woods took over we always showed respect ,my mother's family still lives there ." Hello from southern West Virginia. I really enjoyed this video. I’ve gone cemetery hunting with my young daughters in the mountains here, not for the spookiness but for the history lessons. They see the struggles and sacrifices made by our early settlers. It helps them learn to appreciate our own lives and take nothing for granted. This was a really great video. Hi Donnie, I'm in the UK and came across your channel purely by chance. When I was a child, I was fascinated by cemeteries, it had to be the really ancient ones going back 200 years plus. I always wondered about the lives lived by the people who were interred there. My favourite one was in the grounds of an old ruined cathedral near to where we lived in Scotland. I remember once getting my dad to come with me. I'm sure he was more than a bit concerned at what appeared to be quite a morbid past time for a ten year old. Anyway that particular day I pointed out the numerous headstones that had the skull and crossbones and my dad told me they were pirates 😂 I actually believed him! Years later while watching a documentary it mentioned that it signified people who had died from the plague. When I rang my dad up he roared with laughter saying that it had taken me long enough to rumble his big fib. I'm off to catch up on all your other videos now!

My family and I were on the way to visit our grandmother on Christmas Eve 1977, when we witnessed a white ball of light fly in front of our vehicle, from a cemetery on one side of the road to a cemetery on the other side, everyone reacted to it at the same time. I was nine years old at the time and still remember it clearly.

Fascinating as always. I am a Brit waiting on my Green Card. My wife is American. I like to think of the pioneers from my old country coming here to Tennessee to live and fight for a great country, Tom Paine being just one. I feel like a modern day pioneer, trying to live self sufficiently on my little homestead. I have been here two years and feel part of this land already. It gets into your bones and very soul very quickly. I love to watch your videos, they help me understand so much of what is here.

This is greatly meaningful, Donne, and I appreciate your bringing the evidence of these old pioneers to us. The anomalies are interesting, but seeing the forgotten cemeteries and reading the names of some of the people buried there are of so much more importance. As it is said, "There are three deaths: the first when you die, the second when you are buried, and the third when your name is spoken for the last time."

Well that's a sad saying, the third death being basically forgotten forever. I prefer a more positive perspective on death.

@@5555kids It IS sad -- and even a bit chilling -- but I think of the saying as a reason to keep alive anything that might be part of a "lost" or forgotten person. There is a certain romantic or sentimental feel to that pursuit, apart from the plain history of it. I am so grateful that Donnie DID go out in the woods and found these cemeteries and grave sites, so we COULD remember the people there! With our recent Memorial Day remembrances, for instance, we also recall those who laid down their lives for the country and we say, "Never forget," even though they may have died decades ago, perhaps in far away lands. That all said, I am a firm believer in Christ and an eternity in heaven with Him, so I do not think of death as an end or something that is not positive -- "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" (2 Cor. 5:8).

Another wonderful story, Mr. Laws! Many, many years ago, we lived next to an old cemetery. Soldiers from the Revolutionary War were buried there. Some markers showed that they served under George Washington. Strange events DID occur that we could not explain!

I feel blessed to have 7 Family Cemeteries. It’s mind boggling when you see how far back Kin goes. There’s 3 in The Deep Mtns that are overgrown & hidden. That would be 10 but like you said, nature took them back. Especially our Cherokee & Seminole burial grounds. Thank you Brother Donnie. My little daughter use to take Paper & Pencil & I believe she’s still got those decades later.

As a veteran myself, I just want to thank you and your family for visiting my fellow veterans and ensuring they aren't entirely forgotten. A lot of people like to talk an awful lot about supporting veterans, but if that were the case there would not be entire wards at VA hospitals, where disabled veterans get dumped to be forgotten and die. It's comforting to know that there's someone out there going to visit them, even 200+ years on

Sir, I was a kindred spirit for a long time - it’s impossible to go backwoods hiking in a wheelchair - and I truly enjoyed this video. I would love to sit by a fireplace and hear your stories! Coming from Canada, I do not really have an accent and your voice is like warm molasses running one my soul! As you showed the old logging roads, it brought back so many memories of times I have done the same thing. I always thought it was magical with the leaves crunching and the sun dappling through; I used to pack a picnic and a book to read over lunch and would make the day of it. Because my Dad grew up in a cabin in the woods during the Depression, he had taught me how to get around and also to get by with what the forest offers. I felt so free to be a young girl (maybe 8-10 yrs old?) with a VERY strict father, but was trusted to spend the day wandering alone in the woods!

I wonder about them and their lives, loves, children. You do a wonderful narration, with your warm voice that sounds like old liquid silk. So soothing to listen to.

Great history Donnie! I’ve seen footage at Gettysburg of civil war ghosts walking thru a cemetery and walking thru the woods and up a hill. You can see their uniforms and the rifles they are holding. Thanks for all you do my friend.

I'm not from the US but it's really cool what you're doing, documenting old cemeteries like this. Thing is - if people don't do this, they will be so overgrown and forgotten about, people will not remember the history. I often look at graves, first settlers and all that. History buff is me.

The struggle was real pretty much everywhere. When my Norwegian GG-grandparents homesteaded in Dakota Territory they had to scratch a living from the soil gnarled with roots of tall prairie grass that'd been growing there for hundreds or thousands of years. (prairie grass fires were common, sparked by lightning) The Sioux/Lakota threat was still there in the southeastern area. I'm not sure what they used for heating as there were few trees, maybe buffalo chips. It really humbles me to contemplate all the misery and death they endured, along with uncertainly about the next meal. Add:: they entered Dakota Territory in 1870. I've often wondered if I had the same fortitude to leave my native land, knowing you'll never see family again, and head out to a new and wild western US. Usually end up feeling I'm less than worthy to stand in their shadow.

We see orbs clear as a bell on security cameras at our huge church...the cameras are manned 24/7...the entire security teams knows and Ive watched them floating around the Gym especially during worship...yes we have recordings and Im not shure my son is willing to upload..but if we do the location will be absolutely a secret as the church leaders know and we dont want a fuss about a side show.We dont see an orb for just a second but it travels in a circuit.

I find this so fascinating, the beautiful woods and the long forgotten cemeteries peeking through, giving us pause and reminding us of our heritage. We owe everything to these brave people who now lay in quiet repose. I sometimes feel grateful that they can’t see what we’ve turned their sweat and blood into but at the same time wish they could see the marvels of today brought about also by them. I love that you do this. If you know of an old cemetery, tell the boy/girl scouts in your area. These kids (like three of my own boys) need to take on a projects for their Eagle Scout badges. They have fixed up a few in New England. You might also get a garden club to adopt an area like that. It is a history lesson as well as a lesson in humanity. These little garden of sleeping angels deserve respect for their contributions. They are also lovely places to mediate and for birds. Our fraternal groups put flags on all the veterans graves on memorial day. This is the stuff that makes a better society.

I think-instead of alerting every known group of kids/teens etc. to where these cemeteries are-just leave them ALONE! No one needs to be announcing their whereabouts to the world.

Donnie, thanks for sharing this. Remember when Memorial Day was Decoration Day? When I was a young kid my grandma would take me with her to where her family was buried way out in the middle of nowhere & we’d clean up the graves & put flowers on them. I live far away now but I often think about those cemeteries & hope to go back there sometime while I’m still able.

So interesting especially from my viewpoint in New Zealand, one strange thing happened to me and some members of my family as we strolled through a small old church graveyard in the middle of Winter. Suddenly we could smell a strong scent of flowers... but there were no flowers anywhere and we searched everywhere! Donnie I HAVE to share this with you! I was walking around the 1800’s section of a cemetery we visit often, audio recording with my video camera on my phone. I was speaking as I walked around, reading headstones. I commented about one that had begun to fall over, “I wish these headstones were in better shape.” When I played the video back, a gravelly voice was heard responding to me, saying, “Me, too!” It sounded like an older man who had smoked pipes for many years!!!! Gave me chills! I believe that grunt sounding voice your sister Robin caught was a female trying to muster up the energy to vocally speak, but she could only manage a grunt, as it is very difficult for spirit to produce the energy vibrations to cross the veil to audibility for the living. Maybe it was spirit from the time of the grave, wanting to respond to her.

Those three had been a part of my life for decades. Now they walk with the ancients, but once in a while they let us know that they just behind the veil. 🙏

They don't. Watch legitimate pyschics they will tell you. From what I have learned, your loved ones are with you, wherever you are, not at the cemetery as people believe. They don't hang out there. They are only there, while you are there remembering them.

Another great video. You should go back to Jefferson County and see all of the historic and very, very old graveyards. They are scattered all over and in place you never would expect. Grandma (Unci in Lakota) always told me to leave them a little something. If you have food leave a bite behind or a drink or piece of candy etc.. Have a great day and God bless.

Hi, Donnie, my husband and I are from England, UK but have close friends in Tn. In 2010 we visited them just outside of Knoxville. We had a magical 10-day stay in your beautiful state. I remember visiting the Old Gray cemetery in Knoxville, and looking at all the graves of soldiers killed in the Civil War, but my greatest joy was visiting the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park, taking a photo and after going through my phone camera finding a picture of a civil war union soldier reflected in the window of Craven's House. We found the Old Gray cemetery quite creepy but loved the ornamental tombs dedicated to various dignitaries and famous soldiers. All in all, we had a wonderful time with our friends and loved Tn. I will be watching more of your videos. Thanks again.

That was beautiful Donnie. I grew up in southeast Alabama and western Georgia. I still remember the Civil war cemeteries in long forgotten corners of the landscape. As a child I did a lot of exploring. I still can remember the nights when the ground fog was so thick you couldn't see your feet and the firefly's really helped add to the whole atmosphere. I now live in California. I was so shocked and pleased one day when my adult son called me to say he had moved to Alabama near the Tennessee border. We have so much to talk about now when we get together. He too has completely immersed himself into that beautiful part of the country. He now understands why that part of my life is so important to me. Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane.

Great video Donnie. I have a couple acres of land that border the Shenandoah National Park. Was roaming through the park and found a foundation to a house. After researching the area I found there are some cemeteries nearby from the families that lived there before the govt. "bought their property" to establish the park. No telling how many graves are there that no one knows about. Thanks for the video.

I just found your channel by accident. I absolutely love old Graves and wonder about those precious folks. No one deserves to be forgotten. I have researched paternal and maternal ancestry. I have found Graves, places they lived, etc. One grave has a step stone, from their home, placed on the grave.

Thanks for sharing...those were orbs. I've got pics of orbs when I scattered my husband's ashes where he wanted them spread. I also heard voices saying "bear boy". My husband as a young man rescued a cub from a tree after its mother was killed by a falling tree. The cub as an adult became an attraction at Woodland Park zoo in Seattle WA in the 1960s.
