They can freeze your money. And you can do literally nothing about it. They can print and devalue without you being able to tell on any way possible. Today. You go to the store. You pay with 20 dollar bill. At the turn of the century it cost a nickel and pocket lint. Next year inflation may kick in. And you’ll have to pay with 200 dollars. You can tell how this is bad. Before central banking. You would literally feel the weight of gold increase. Paper money has abstracted that. And digital currency has abstracted that even more. It’s going to harm us all

That’s just reserve money with extra steps. Not saying it wouldn’t work as I’m sure there is a gold coin or silver coin. Just that. The liquidity of gold at the moment isn’t to the levels that people would be willing to trust such an enterprise. Also. The state controls gold and silver supply. If we could get the state to forfeit that. We could get a serious money issuance. Also. Do you trust the blockchain? Do you trust that it will not be perverted? Do you trust the people who you are giving money/gold to convert into gold coin? And do you trust that you’ll be able to liquidate without the government ducking you over

I still don't understand Bitcoin. What is the dollar equivalent to US currency? What do these wide varying market values mean? Like on one day Bitcoin is traded @! $10.00: another day, $20,000. And what is a "Blockchain"? What is a "platform"? This is too complicated for me.

A block chain is a ledger of transactions, arranged into blocks. The blocks are linked by a SHA256 hash which starts 0000004cff86k.. the zeros are the proof of work done by the miners.

You can see it this way: you have a data-base which faithfully capture the details of all the transactions executed using that specific crypto. This database is replicated in many copies which can be found stored in virtually countless nodes which made the network . As a result that means you can trust 100% the info contained in the database and no central authority is charged with the task to update and maintain such database

I think what this will cause is that people will start to move away from multicultural societies and move backwards to single culture governments. In other words, the governments will cause their own collapse by creating this, as the only reason democracies work is because control is so limited.
