My daughter and I have attended this hunt for the last 6 years. It has become our day together doing what we both enjoy. Next hunt is Nov. 11 Veterans Day hunt down in Round Rock. Maybe we will see you there.

Like you, I dug 1 half dollar and felt fortunate since only 20 were buried. And, like you, seemed like 6 or 7 minutes between some targets. Began to wonder if my machine was off? The hunt field seemed HUGE ... maybe 200 yds by 75 yds. Lots of ground to attempt to cover. Maybe too much for 1,000 coins. Enjoyed your vid of the hunt.

My buddy and I have been attending these competition seeded hunts since just before Covid 19 hit. On my first competition hunt, I won the grand prize , which was a Garrett AT Max. Took home lots of silver and other prizes too. They are fun if you haven’t tried _/👍

maybe there is a way for the event organizer to unpackage a set of headphones for people without headphones to use for the crowded hunt

Interesting. Many years ago I got my first detector, a Gold Mountain which was a sister company of Garrett at the time. I couldn't afford anything better at the time, but I found enough to pay for the detector many times over. Fast forward a couple of decades and I bought a Whites Coinmaster at a flea market pretty cheap. By that time I was working 56 hours a week, which didn't leave much time for hunting. Fast forward to retirement and by now I can afford any detector I could want, but I have health problems and mobility issues. While a scheduled hunt like that on your video interests me, at 70 years old my biggest problem would be getting down to retrieve any target I found and then getting back up. I also can't walk more than 100 yards without hurting and limping. Do you have any members like me and if so, how do they get around these problems?
