This was 2015, here in 2019 just saw an interview with him on TYT and his business has done nothing but thrive, he's even expanded buying a business in Idaho where the employees were making 24,000 a year and on day one went up to 40,000 and are being increased every year till they get to 70,000. Amazon, Disney, facebook, Google, etc could do this in a heartbeat and it would barely effect their bottom line and I'm guessing worker productivity would skyrocket not to mention the serious PR boost they'd get. It would massively stimulate local economies and make huge inroads into the massive levels of consumer debt in America.

These employees not only feel valued by their employer, but every aspect of their entire lives have improved for themselves & their families. Job security /decent wages remove the huge daily stress of perhaps needing to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, buy a dependable car, meets family needs, even go on vacation. And when your employer has this positive attitude, sees happy employees, production/results will prosper, etc, it's a win-win for all.

Very generous idea, however, I have seen his short documentary months ago, and he does not have much employees, which honestly allows him to be so giving. Nevertheless, a noble decision. And yes, with the right demand, product and employees you can pay your employees a liveable wage/salary. Also, enough about inflation this ,inflation that! Inflation will rise regardless of the power of the dollar. As long as company's like Costco, this man company and many more continue to give their employees a "will and not a bill" inflation will not matter.

This was taken over 6 yrs ago and his company still thriving and employees still works there with zero or very low employee turnover. That's they key to employee retention and high morale! Hopefully more and more US companies would follow his firm's compensation plan! Also business schools everywhere should study his theory about profitability and productivity in relation to employee's salaries.

The negativity for such a generous gift you gave your employees is so ridiculous. I think it happens because people and businesses are extremely jealous over what you did. Most businesses are filled with greedy people in higher managerial positions, and I actually think they're frightened with knowing that you actually care about those who work for you. You are such a loving and giving person. Those that speak against what you are doing so because they probably have to live with themselves knowing how they treat their own employees. People stop being haters. I was never a hater when new employees were making the same amount I was making after more than 30 years on the job after only being there 4 years. Would they rather continue earning less so that others were earning the same? If their answer is "yes", then I say, " you're one sick puppy." AND not a cute one at all.

Why do some people think that its ok for people to not be able to live comfortable while working for a company. If more companies did something similar I would consider joining the workforce instead of working to remove myself from this economy completely.

This type of system can work anywhere, its trying to get the old way of economic thinking to change.

The issue with free market is that people with lots of money will make more and more money by keeping the wages low across-the-board. This wonderful dude is an exception and will not become a billionaire elite, because he's not greedy and drives happiness from creating happiness for others rather than material possessions and luxury. That's why we need regulations to help unions, encourage co-ops and regulate big businesses from becoming exploitative. Capitalism is appreciative of greed and profits with little regard for distruction of nature and exploitation of populations, so we need to set the rules of the game to prevent such outcomes.

Yeah, apparently all of the top performers started leaving the company because they didn't get a bump. But all of the low performers doubled their income without doing anything. Any idiot could have seen this coming. People who work hard like to see their contributions rewarded with higher pay than people who don't. Also, they started getting fewer contracts because potential customers didn't see overpaying the bottom performers as a sound business strategy.

Another thing people tend to forget or ignore is the more you pay an employee, the more they will likely work. Whether its meeting that monthly revenue sale, customer service percentage, cutting cost...etc. money usually brings out the best in people.

I do think their is a lot of wage abuse in this country particularly "part time". I blame obama care and all that jaz. we seem to be shipping every job over seas. What really needs to happen is government needs to stay out of business. Government can only regulate and take. And when both are done it means something has to suffer.
