The ML does not deserve forgiveness. You can also forgive someone, and not take them back. She almost died, was tortured, humiliated and couldn’t even be a mother. She only got pictures of her son. Instead of beginning her duty as a mother, she went and tried to save her worthless father from his gambling debt. Not everyone is worth saving. A child comes first, always.
