Love this series! To remove SPF products the best is to use cleansing balms or oils. I use the Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil every day to remove my makeup and SPF. Is very light and makes an emulsion with water to remove it very easily. Doesn’t leave a greasy skin (after that I usually do a second cleansing step by washing my face with any cleansing product). And is super affordable! (I saw it on Walgreens website and here in Mexico I get it at Walmart!)
@vanessalawson4045Ай бұрын
Even with double cleansing, sometimes it’s still hard to remove certain spfs, esp water resistant ones. I’ve had to wash my face again after a double cleanse to get it off completely. I always use a cleansing oil or balm as first step and this Cerave one is hard to remove
@snoweymonkeyАй бұрын
Heimish All Clean Balm is the way to remove mineral sunscreen. Apply dry, dampen hands and emulsify the balm (this step gets everything off), then rinse off. Follow with water-based cleanser.
@amandas8349Ай бұрын
This is my holy grail, it erases pores and leaves my skin looking perfected. I use hada labo cleansing oil to remove it at the end of the day
@glendagarcia6194Ай бұрын
I always use a balm to remove SPF. Thanks for this series Jen I’m counting on your advice!
@20thcenturyrelicАй бұрын
I'm really surprised that so many people are saying they need special cleansers to remove sunscreen. I've never needed anything except tepid water and a rinse off cleanser.
@vanessalawson4045Ай бұрын
@@20thcenturyrelicyou may think you’re removing it all and may not be though. I find with water resistant spfs, they’re even harder to remove and that’s using a cleansing balm or oil first. What cleanser do you use?

The thickness of this particular sunscreen is what turned me off. Plus it ended up pilling up a lot and that was probably due to whatever skin care I had done previously but I returned it just based on my experience of application. I have to enjoy applying it otherwise I won’t use it. Thank you for these shorts! Love you Jen!
@lindasadler6338Ай бұрын
I have combo/oily skin, and this felt so heavy and thick! I’ve never been able to make any Cerave sunscreen work for me.
@JenPhelpsАй бұрын
Yes, it's very thick and heavy! Not bad on dry skin but if I put this on top of moisturizer, it melts my makeup off so I have to use it AS my moisturizer, haha.
@aj27turquoiseskiesАй бұрын
I have super oily skin and always use cerave lol i sleep with a thick layer on my face and it prevents my breakouts. The thicker the better for oily skin imo
@20thcenturyrelicАй бұрын
They must be formulated for normal and dry skin.

I have combo/dry skin and I don’t like any CeraVe products. They’re all sooo thick and many of them are greasy feeling. I don’t even like their cleansers 🤮

The Josie Maran sunscreen is really nice. And Cetaphil makes a liquid mineral sunscreen thats nice if you have fair skin!
@MissieykayАй бұрын
I love this sunscreen. I started using it once I had a pre cancer spot. The tint is a little dark but once blended in it was great. It dries down and has no smell which I’m grateful for. I use van I cream to wash my face and makes it a breeze to come off. I love that cleanser it takes mascara and other pigmented makeup off as a breeze. Thank you for your review.

I use the Cerave hydrating sheer sunscreen- it’s a hybrid and doesn’t bother my super dry sensitive skin and eyes.

I love seeing these mineral sunscreens! Thanks for testing them out for us. I am curious what you use for spf around your eyes though. I’ve been trying to focus on spreading the sunscreen into every little crevasse since my mom has had several basal cell skin cancers removed. I do have issues with them migrating into my eyelid creases. Not sure what to do about it.
@JenPhelpsАй бұрын
I know I probably should but I don't put it around my eyes. I'm a very avid sunglasses wearer though so if I'm outside I'm almost always wearing them. 😎

I love these little videos. You don't put sunscreen on your eyelids and inner corner of eyes? Which is why I appreciate this series of mineral sunscreens. I absolutely cannot wear anything else around my eyes. After hearing Dr Dray say that eyelids are a common cancer spot I make sure to. Now, if only I remembered my sunglasses everywhere I tried the CeraVe tinted last year and it was super dark on me and darkened even more throughout the day. I gave it away.
@JenPhelpsАй бұрын
I'm a very avid sunglasses person so if I'm outside, I'm wearing them, even on cloudy days, so I guess that's why I usually don't put it on my eyes.

I don't mind hard to get sunscrean off as I know it is there. I use CeraVe tinted sunscreen as my base too. It doesn't burn my eyes, the color works, doesn't break me out, and the price is good. I have mature (postmenapausal and I still have pcos) combo skin.

Jen I know I have a really long comment on here but please read them it's a list of Korean sunscreens with the prices and where to get them. Please try some of them and let me know what you think. The beauty of Josen seems to get the highest rating out of anyone! I have never seen one person say anything bad about it whether they have dry skin or oily skin. But if you're looking for I guess it really good one from what I hear is the isntree water gel. They are all under 20 American dollars and they are spf 50++++
@20thcenturyrelicАй бұрын
Huh, this was the next one I was going to try when I use up my current facial sunscreen. But I think my skintone is lighter than yours, so I don't know how this would work for me. Re removing sunscreen, I've never had to use a special cleanser to do it. Not even when I went to Hawaii and was wearing a reef safe Badger mineral sunscreen that was very heavy. So heavy that my extremely dry skin loved it. I didn't even have to wear moisturizer under it!

Thanks for sharing your your thoughts and experiences. I always get allergies from cerave products.
@mariastanisАй бұрын
I have more oily skin and I have the same thoughts about this sunscreen. I applied it without moisturizer underneath and don't use foundation after - just setting powder. In that way it's not too heavy.

I can barely tell the difference and it could be because of the lighting that you have but honestly I can barely barely tell the difference between what your regular skin tone is and the tinted sunscreen

That sunscreen is about the only thing on the planet that succeeds in breaking me out. I have insanely dry skin and nothing usually causes breakouts. I tried this product a couple of times over the past few weeks (Pinterest made me buy it) and I broke out each time. I always wear sunscreen too, so it wasn’t the fact of adding this to my routine. It’s the product itself.

I’ve been eyeing the Bubble Plus One since you talked about it… so it’s not hard to remove like this one? I hated this one! PS love this series!
@MyCleverHandleАй бұрын
I've been using the Plus One with Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB Cream on top, and I have an easy time removing it with a first cleanse with micellar water on cotton pads (mostly to remove full eye makeup), then doing a second cleanse with an older formula foaming unscented cream cleanser by Olay or just plain Dove unscented sensitive skin formula bar soap (!) on a microfiber washcloth in the shower. I'm 64, with rosacea, lines, wrinkles, etc. and no irritation with this base combination and cleansing routine.
@amyh718Ай бұрын
I was just able to try the Bubble one today, compared to my current SKIN1004, it was thick and left a tacky finish, almost like old-fashioned ss. Also, it had a very weird scent. I wish this one had worked for me. There are some good suggestions on here: the Cetaphil, MD Solarsciences that I still want to try. Great series!
@GeorgiiAirdАй бұрын
Oh, but as a wearing one, despite the burdensome nuance to be removed, it suits you perfectly 🤗 I believe this is a vegan-friendly formulation as well? CeraVe and LRP are quite a dangerous territory in this regard putting beeswax everywhere or other ingredients, so I’m never using their products 👀
@luvzdogzАй бұрын
I did not like that sunscreen. I don't remember why LOL but I know I moved it out of my face products area and was relegated to the bin for body or just when I need to slap something on and I don't care how it performs other than sun protection.
