We are the only four people alive that have been to the bottom of this mine and who have explored it so extensively.
Thanks to the team for getting in and out safe!

They were mining in limestone below the 200-foot level and failed to shore up the tunnel with timber, former Cerro Gordo mining foreman Fred Fisher told a Times reporter in 1950. @@burningcoal5705 Well, he's armed, and you'd know that if you watched his videos. That being said, it's not hard to sneak up behind someone and dome 'em, especially when they're alone. THAT BEING SAID, using violence to acquire the silver at Cerro Gordo would NEVER work in 2020. It may be remote, but faaar sooner than you'd be able to get a good amount of silver, people will start asking questions. I doubt he carries a gun for personal protection from humans, likely from wild animals and the like. Raiding Cerro Gordo for artifacts or what you could carry in a day or two run would make sense, but would net no capital. Raiding Cerro Gordo for Silver, which is owned by the person who has the land rights, would be an incredible theft, especially with a care taker on the property.
@burningcoal5705
@burningcoal5705 3 жыл бұрын
@@skynat247 Being murdered for his silver is absolutely a possibility. It would take at least an hour for any police unit to help with how isolated he is. You underestimate looters. If hes my himself majority of the time its easy for him to be in the mine while someone goes through his home.
@Oper8or
@Oper8or 3 жыл бұрын
@@skynat247 No actually he and the care taker both carry. Its rare to see them without. From what i gather its for humans and the mean kitties they have up there. Not to mention they have installed motion sensors in specific areas. There are also a lot of volunteers roaming the area at any given time plus supplies being delivered. Do i think they are heavily armed? No, not by any means. But the fact that any one person is even mentioning they would rob or murder someone over a small amount of silver (like Mr. Burning Coal mentioned) is enough to say they definitely need to be armed.

I've been following mine explorations thanks to all the you-tubers' channels. By voice, it sounds like one or two of your crew have joined up on another channel. Great to see this one. Like so many others, I'm also following the restoration of Cerro Gordo. The history lesson you shared ties in nicely with all of his videos on his work in the town. In case you haven't seen it, the current owner and another one on his team investigated the 200 level by going in at a 190 spot. That was quite interesting. Lots of blasting caps and dynamite at that level and some other artifacts. He and his team addressed the issues that you mentioned about the water. He has actual footage of water coming out the top of the shaft. While the hotel suffered a devastating fire, it will be rebuilt since he has the original plans.

@@spdfreakls1 Pex pipe doesn't have issues with the freezing other than the water could freeze inside it...but it shouldn't burst like the metal or PVC would. I would think being underground most of the mine would hover around 50 deg F....with just the area closer to the surface being a freeze hazard.

@wowJhil
@wowJhil 3 жыл бұрын
It's very very odd if he hasn't. He must have scanned everything about the mine, and since others have been exploring it and even sharing it so easily stopped here on KZfaq, it can't be that he didn't see it. What I think as someone who saw this place through Brent's videos is that him not mentioning about the previous exploration that has been made is really so so. Because he sort of sell the story of the mines being unexplored. But it's not really how it is it seems. The exploration shown here seems much more professional also, while Brent's adventure feels like amateurish.

Dynamite, Wheel Barrows, Mine Carts, Shovels, pickaxes. On the owner's KZfaq channel you see quite a lot of unused dynamite (weathered) and leftover blasting caps. There are quite a few videos of him documenting some of the mines and some of the mining tools that were left behind.
