In this episode of the CFBKings Show, I discuss the way that draft picks are credited in College Football's current transfer portal era. While I was watching the draft, it occurred to me that some schools are being deprived of the stat/recognition of NFL draft picks, because players are transferring out for their final year of College Football after being scouted, recruited, and developed by their original school.
This is especially the case for Group of Five teams who turn players into valuable options that the power conferences then look to if they need to fill positions on their team for a season. I go through several examples in this year's draft where players were developed at smaller schools, left and transferred elsewhere for their final season after several years with their first school, and then were credited as a product of their second school in the NFL Draft.
