The CFMOTO Cforce could be considered a controversial machine. While many people love them and all the features you can get for the price, others consider them a "no name" knock-off where you shouldn't waste your money.

kzfaq.info...
After having the CFMOTO Cforce for a while and getting some good time on the trail with it. I have to start off by saying, I'm pretty impressed. Before we get too much info that though, let's talk about a few things that are just off about the CFMOTO Cforce.
The first thing worth mentioning is that the Cforce as very little storage. Now I get it, it's an ATV not a side by side but when it comes to ATV storage, this machine is definitely on the small end. The second thing worth a mention is the shifting and braking. Getting the Cforce in and out of gear requires that the footbrake be pressed down extremely hard...you almost have to specifically focus on it. The other braking issue is the fact that CFMOTO put the front brake on the same side as the throttle. I have no idea WHY CFMOTO would do this, but it's terrible! Now, after a few rides, we did find ourselves getting used to it, but it's still an issue.
Water! Another issue we found with the Cforce is condensation and water getting into the headlights (which by the way, were never submerged in deep water). Now, this would not be such a huge deal, except that we also had condensation issues with the dash on the Uforce. This makes the issue extra concerning since it makes me wonder what type of water issues CFMOTO's will have over time.
Alright, so let's discuss some of the things that make this machine awesome. First off, I need to say this machine is wayyyy more comfortable than I thought it would be. Now, I did not expect it to be uncomfortable, but I also did not expect it to be as comfortable as it actually is. Seriously, before deciding to buy a different 2-Up, you should consider at least giving this a test run. Speaking of 2-Up, the comfort carries over to the second passenger on this machine as well. There is plenty of space for two people to ride comfortably and relaxed while running the trails.
One of CFMOTO's big claims is that they offer premium features at a basic price...which well, seems pretty true. These machines come with nice aluminum bumpers, a winch, and one of my favorite features (that can cost you ton's of money to add!) a locking differential. I absolutely love the fact that this comes with a locking dif! Finally, let me just touch on that "basic price". These machines cannot currently be beaten by any of the "big guys". Even before you start adding things like a winch and locking dif, the CFMOTO Cforce is just simply less expensive than its competitors.
So that leaves us with one big question. Are you willing to go with a less common brand for a smaller price tag? Let me know in the comments below!

I purchased a Cforce 500 HO and a Cforce 400 for my wife. They are absolutely worth the money. Not only do you get a huge cost savings, but you get a ton of extras, and great looks to boot. As this video mentions, the gears are a little rough to change, specially if you are on a steep incline. the dealer has told me that it will work it self out in time, we will see. Also, I don't know about the 300 bucks after break in, IU read the manual and checked with the dealer before purchasing. They explained that its recommended but not mandatory. The other issue is that CFMoto does not have the extensive dealer network so getting repairs and maintenance done maybe a bit of a hassle. Overall I think it was a great purchase and I am very happy.

we bought a pair of 400S models and have had no issues. We ride the snot out of these in both 4whl and 2whl. I do agree with the maintenance for valve clearance check. But it is a one time check, and you can do it your self. Next, the Brake pedal thing and shifting, was done away with, matter of fact you can adjust it out so you don't have to use the foot pedal. One thing we noticed on ours was our blue one had 2 miles on it when we bought it, and obviously a shop demo unit, the shifting on it was very very smooth. Our orange one had .7 miles on it and it took two rides to get the shifter to work in. But it is flawless now. We have been very happy with these machines and also found that the Tractor supply 2500# winch was a bolt on affair.

Hey thanks for all that feedback, Tim. Glad to hear they are both working out well for you. We just got done doing a valve clearance on a Uforce. I agree, as long as you know how to do one they are not that bad. The worst part is definitely taking the machine so far apart. Thanks again, appreciate the feedback.

The New Cforce 800XC is a BEAST!!!!!! That Cforce 800 is an older discontinued model, The 2019 Cforce 800XC is ALL new EVERYTHING!!. Great honest review of the older Cforce 800 and excited to see your reviews on up to date cfmoto products. Hopefully, your local CFMOTO dealer will let you borrow a new cfmoto to review in the future. Good job!! Quick note: HP ratings from other manufacturers can be rated at the crank and would read a higher HP but the CFMOTO rates their HP to the rear wheel "true HP" Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for the tip on the HP rating, good stuff. Glad to hear the 800XC is treating you well. I would not say the 800XC is all new everything however. They made some updates and modifications, but it's still built on the same platform. As for outdated, this machine was just purchased by someone 8 months ago (not us) righ off the showroom floor. So yes, it's not the new 2019 model but they are still very previlent. Thanks for the compliment on the review, and I also hope to get the 2019 model for review soon!

I have done plenty of research on both models... While there are some very distinct differences with the 2019, it is still the same overall machine... It's not a total rebuild. Better clutch, etc yes. But still the same V-Twin 800cc with a CVT clutch. Is it better? Yes, is it a complete overhall/change? No.

@@NavigateOffroad How is it still the same overall machine? Completely new chassis (trailing arm rear suspension), new instrumentation, updated engine (no wet clutch, trans and engine are now separate oil cavities, new oil cooling system, different throttle body, etc.. yes its still a Vtwin 800), new CVT (old 800 was a CVTECH secondary, new 800 is is CVTECH primary and secondary), all new bodywork, new instrumentation, new rims, new seating, new racks, new lighting... there are too many things to list that are different versus the same. If you took the bill of materials to build the old machine and compared to the new 800XC... very little is the same.

Nice Video . I just received the 600, have 3 hours on it so far. I have never drove or owned another ATV. I am concerned about the rpm of this one. Is it normal to rev pretty high? Doesn't sound like it changes gears or is this how the CVT transmissions are ? When in High gear it is @ 5,000 + RPM or more going only 20 mph. If this is normal I will feel much better. According to the manual there is a 20 hour break in period where I should not tow or go over 1/2 throttle as well. Your thoughts? Thx !

I’m in England, my husband bought me the cf moto 800 for my birthday in 2015 as I’m no longer able to ride a motorcycle due to having fibromyalgia. I absolutely love it. Mine is bright orange but I’m considering a bright lime coloured wrap to give it a change. On my next run out, it’ll click round to having done 1000 miles in those 3.5 years since it was purchased. I also sometimes struggle to get it into gear but have no other issues. When either riding or as pillion I am so comfortable which is a major point due to my chronic pain. It is thirsty for fuel which I believe is a lot dearer in England than the USA. I am so happy with mine. I’m blessed with an awesome husband.

I use it around my 20 acres to do typical farm work, but I also take it on the trails a LOT. I’ve rolled it 4 or 5 times (yeah, yeah...like I said, I’m not kind to it) and it hasn’t had a single problem. I have been super impressed with both of my machines. A good honest review! I live in dear old "Blighty" and bought mine end of November 2017. I can honestly say I love it! As you say the comfort and room is outstanding even with my wife and dog on-board! I was looking at Can Am or Polaris as my health has stopped me riding 2 wheels in the last couple of years. However with Import duties and Taxes these are STAGGERINGLY expensive this side of the pond! Then I discovered CF Moto! Mine does everything I have asked of it in the 1500 miles I have ridden it at less than half the price! It would have been a lot more miles but my health took a nose-dive in September last year and I am nearly back to riding again! Thanks again for the very honest review!

Love the CFMOTO all there vehicles are really good and well engineered. Honestly I’ve been into the tech engineering of Polaris, Yamaha, Honda, CFMOTO, Suzuki, can am Kawasaki and the CF from that stand point I’d rate- Honda and Yamaha tied for first, CF Suzuki and can am tied for 2nd, Kawasaki for 3rd and lastly Polaris. After the company shift in 2008 Polaris fell off the podium. They might make tons of power but there designs, programming and quality VS investment ratio is horrible, they’ve actually been designed to fail after the warranty period is over in hopes you buy another or keep fixing it. It’s a shame really. As for there belt CVT it’s actually pretty good people shred the belt, it wasn’t the belts fault. Everyone thinks you can sit on the primary’s stall rpm and creep but it just creates heat. And that goes for ALL manufactures. Yamaha put an engagement clutch in there’s to help with belt life and the industry needs to follow this to keep idiot riders in check. I’ll leave it at that, they all have faults but Polaris I rate at the bottom of the totem pole....don’t be scared of CFMOTO though, there actually well built BUT don’t expect to jump the Grand Canyon on any vehicle and something not break...

Hey thanks for your response and lengthy input. Good thoughts, I love reading comments like this that have so much thought put into them. One thing Canam and Polaris have that I think helps keep them at the top is their power machines (like you mentioned). If CFMOTO came out with a Scrambler or Renegade I think it could make a huge impact on the offroad community. If they could do it with their current level of reliability and premium standard, it could really rock the industry (in my opinion).
@tittledieselperformancellc

Midwest ATV I agree everyone goes for big and bad power but reliability suffers so a lot of the market finds that happy line like Yamaha for example, the grizzly isn’t slow but it’s also not a 90hp monster but not as slow as my Honda rubicon at 28hp. Also manufactures rate there power different, Honda rates power at the tire on an assembled vehicle, can am, Yamaha, Polaris etc rate at the crank on an engine dyno in perfect environmental conditions. But I agree a nasty CFMOTO in the sport 4x4 category would be great, hopefully someone comes across it and try’s that.
@NavigateOffroad
@NavigateOffroad 5 жыл бұрын
Well said! I will just add as it seems like the theme of the day as I have been responding to comments. ATVs are not a one size fits all. To some reliability is the most important. To others, it's how fast and hard they can push it. Thanks again for the thoughtful responses.

I would recommend checking each out, sitting on it, testing it if you can, and just getting a good feel for it. All three companies make good machines, it's just about whats best for you. If its speed and power you want, Polaris or Can-Am. If its working on the farm, the Grizzly could be the best option (maybe). Yamaha is also known for having better reliability over Polaris and Can-Am. So all three have great machines, it just about what you are looking for. Geeze, I feel like a politician! Although I understand that you cannot control it manually, it's really not accurate to say the Polaris does not have a locking diff, because it does. It's just done automatically, and it works AMAZINGLY well. Would be like saying a Detroit Locker is not a locker as opposed to an ARB, because the ARB can be manually controlled while the Detroit cannot.

First I had problems with main fuse , it burned down all the time. Then cf got it fixed. Then I had problems with steering system, one part came loose all the time and it’s not fun when you’re riding and you have no steering. I then no they fixed this problem in fourth time. Then I had my first motor break down. I had driven 1800 km then. It was in August 2017, they fixed it under warranty. Next motor break down was when I had 3600 km on it, and it was April 2018, for the new engin I had to pay 2500 euros and got the atv back in August 2018. When I got it back my rear shocks were dead and vinch wasn’t working. Cf said that I have to wait a month for new ones, I ordered them myself from China and got them in week. Then I had problems with variator ( I hope this is the right word) , had to visit them 3 times with that problem. When I got that fixed, then my front differential went in half. 700 euros and its new again. I forgot to tell that I did use tracks on that atv. That’s why there almost 2000 km between two engin repairs. Sold the atv last week...

While a few do, most ATVs have a hand brake on the left side, not the right side. It's a negative since most do not have it on the right side, it forces the larger population of riders to get used to a different setup. Besides that, I just think having a thumb Throttle and hand brake on the same side is kind of stupid. I'm fine with it for twist throttles, but not a fan with thumb throttles.

Looking at the cfmotousa website, your machine looks out of date from the current 2019 model. LED headlights and maybe some reconfigured storage. I'd consider one in the future, but our Yamaha's have been reliable and offer most/all the same features.

You are correct, Sir! This was not the new 2019 model. Hopefully we will be able to test drive and review the 2019 Lineup soon! We have a request out to CFMOTO... But not having a whole lot of luck with getting in contact with the right person. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired!

Front diff are junk I’ve replaced 3 in mine and 3 fans,winch didn’t last 2 weeks the front diff would rip out of the frame every time I would back up. Motor and rear diff are strong

hey some of the quads that I ride do not even have storage space not even a tool kit and all the bikes and ATVs that I rode always had a front brake on the throttle side and a clutch on the opposite side and your rear brake was always the foot break then again I don't ride cheap bikes more of a Yamaha Honda Kawasaki the more dependable bike

Yea storage space is always a question of what it will have for any machine. But I do like a little storage on any utility style ATV. I have rode many ATVs, and this is the first one in years that has the Throttle and brake on the right hand side. If they do that, I would at least prefer a twist Throttle so my body defaults to treating it like a motorcycle.

Own a cforce500. Rode it hard, plowed snow, plowed horse manure, mud, lakes, trails, off trails etc. No issues. Just a point - front brake on same side as throttle is same as literally every dirt bike I have ever seen. No brake on left please, just confusing

Thanks for your input, Jack. Glad it has held out so well for you! I hear you on the dirt bikes. I used to ride motorcycles and it was the same. It's not for most ATVs, however. Therefore personally I find it more confusing this way. To each their own though!

@@NavigateOffroad True, I guess it is often what you get used to. Have you ever tried a twist throttle on an ATV? I often find when riding hard - stand up mostly and heavy leaning into corners etc - the thumb throttle gets very hard to control. Was thinking about trying a MX twist throttle. Just wondered if you had ever tried it or heard of that. Thanks

Fuel cap lock not such a theft deterrent as it is to keep some asshole from dumping sugar or sand in the tank. Good looking machines imo. Additionally yes I wouldn't buy a atv and haven't if it didn't have diff lock. What's the point. I think a better ending comparison would have been to the sportsman 800 two up price wise and hp, more comparable. Maybe Polaris doesn't offer that model anymore I didn't check so what do I know anyway, lol nutn.

Thanks for your input, Kevin. I get your point n the gas cap. Just thought it was funny because CFMOTO seemed to point it out in their advertisements about how it was a great feature. As for the comparison, I did use the Sportsman 2-up. The one I used is the version currently available from Polaris. Thanks for your thoughts man.
